i dont think so...but if you want to be picky yopu put up the clash and if thats not punk i dont know what is

what is the problem ??????????????

Rock The Casbah is more New Wave then Punk. Yes the Clash were famous as a Punk band, but like Siouxsie & the Banshees, they were a cross-genre band producing songs in both genres.

No major problem. I just thought you were going to flood this thread with punk songs.

the new wave your on about was possibly new romantic

That's was more The Cure, Depeche Mode, A Flock Of Seagulls, Thompson Twins, ABC.

True I have included some of those bands in my list. Though I'm thinking more along the lines of the songs rather than the band or group.

Depeche Mode's song "Personal Jesus" (IMO) is more New Romantic than New Wave. Yet "Just Can't Get Enough" is the opposite.

no no! don't be silly! I happy that you have contributed. I just mouthed of to prevent a whole bunch of punk songs being posted in here. I can be arrogant like that sometimes :D ( it's the aussie in me ;) )

Yeah I'm not really so strict on what's posted here. Though I was aiming to get mainly songs from the New Wave era (early to mid 80's). As you can see I have posted songs that don't quite fit the exact mold of New Wave. Yet these songs were big at the same time, and are not too much different.

Followed by:

The Cure - (I used to sketch Robert Smith's silhouette all the time)
Siouxsie and the Banshees
New Order

Pretty much everything mentioned here...
