My wife and I watched this over the weekend.

Simply put, you have to see it, I am not even sure I can put it into words. But it left an impression on me that I am still pondering.

The screenplay was unique, simple but charismatic and the characters were complex and believeable, and I hate to say it but Will Smith was that movie, he made the story approachable.

Bottom line is it was powerful, dark, compelling and troubling all at once.

I kept forgetting to add this to my Netflix que. Well it's there now and I put it as my next movie to ship.

My wife and I were thinking about picking it up... should we rent it or is this a keeper?

I believe it's playing at the $1 theater down the street. I've been wanting to see it, so I'm glad someone finally gave me their review :D

WTF you have a $1 theater? OMG That rocks. We have a $3 and the popcorn, soda, and candy I believe are all under $3 each.

When I saw the previews before it came out, it was a little intriguing to say the least, and I really enjoy the direction Will Smith has been going in, especially since he got in with the new production group.

But some time passed and I almost forgot about it. My wife brought it home, and we watched it, without pausing it....And sat there while the credits rolled and just teary eyed, stared at the screen.

There's not a lot of movies that have the complexity of emotion enough to pull you like that. But the gravity of the story is beyond powerful.

It will really leave you conflicted. And you will have to watch the commentaries after you watch the movie, to really gain insight into some of the background issues that aren't made clear in the movie.

It's the most complex, simple movie I have ever seen...

I dont think I have even heard of the movie before.

Im gonna see if I can find someone to go to the movies with me to check it out on my day off this week. You make it sound like it would be worth the money to pay to see it.

I was so looking forward to seeing this a while back, and my wife and I picked it up from Blockbuster last week... I must confess my self disappointed with it. The concept was mildly interesting... but the follow through was horrible. It was real easy to get lost in the movie. More than once I felt like getting up and doing something a bit more productive, like staring at a wall.

What I thought made the movie great was the simplicity of the characters, and the complexity of the storyline.

I mean you had a good idea up-front what was happening, but the shortest distance between two point is a straight line is great, just not in the theatre.

But I can see how you would feel that way, it was a mixed bag for the critics, but it was nominated for Best Picture.
