Tell me what yall think. I just wrote this for my mother and father in law. Its their 40th anniversary. We are throwing them a surprise party tonight. There are a few INSIDE jokes in the poem, so bare with me.
Life seemed easier in the Sixties
Where two people were destined to meet
They were both groovy hippies
So A romance started which was so sweet
November 10, 1972 arrived
And the couple said “I do”
A life together they devised
And soon their family grew
Their first born, a daughter, arrived
Followed by a son after a few years
Their life was happy and thrived
Where they shared their hopes and fears
They had a few swingin' celebrations
Where they had some exciting fun
She was his hot sexy tempations
Greeting at the airport, she was no nun.
They travelled around and about.
Lived here and there.
NC,Alaska and even a camp out.
Oh, that jet-setting pair!
So 40 years together "Congratulations"!
What’s your secret rule to success?
Thankfully it didnt end in any castrations
due to restaurants and family stress
So here’s to many more years
Of fun, happiness and laughter
... well.... and bobby's tears
And live happily ever after.
I love you guys!
Happy 40th Anniversary!
