I think they need to cut back on the cgi animation period. Some movies can live without the 3d effects.

I'm with Fred. 3-D is a silly 50s fad which died out then for good reason.:thumbup

Last time I went to the IMax they were advertising a space station film (as in the real space station). Although I'm not a fan of 3D in most movies, watching this preview in 3D, it really popped, like you were there. Something tells me it is not going away although I really do resent having to pay a 3D price that they claim is for glasses, but if you bring your own glasses, you still have to pay the surcharge. However, at the IMAX they made you give the glasses back...

I cant wait for the Schindler's List remake

Schindler's List 3-D!

Like the panorama of Amon Goeth (played by Ralph Fiennes) standing on his balcony making head shots way across the camp... ;) I found some interesting reading on Goeth here[/url].

To me IMAX is not like 3-d in the theater. IMAX is an awesome experience.

This may only be my complaint but here goes. Seems like hollywood is really into making 3-D movies all of a sudden. First, I don't like wearing the goofy glasses for two + hours. I always leave the theater with a headache. Second, An extra $3 or $3.50 per ticket in this economy really sucks. Thirdly, I don't see it really enhancing my viewing experience.:surrender:p:(

:homo:

I never liked them, it's stupid and doesn't make the movie better for me at all.

Why I hate 3D (and you should too) by Roger Ebert.

1. It's a waste of dimension.
2. It adds nothing to the experience.
3. It can be a distraction.
4. It can create nausea and headaches.
5. 3D is relatively dark (dim) as compared to a traditional movie.
6. There is money to be made selling digital projectors.
7. 3D surcharges run $3.50-$7.00.
8. It does not help a traditional non-cgi drama.
10. Whenever Hollywood feels threatened it turns to technology.

I agree that when you see a regular 2D film, your eyes turn it into 3D. 3D technology is just an amplification of that process, but it is distorted.
