2011 MLB Season thread

It looks like if my Cubbies can take a lead or tie game to the 7th, it's going to be very, very difficult to beat us.

Today...

Kerry Wood - 1 inning, 1 walk, 2 Ks, 0 hits
Sean Marshall - 1 inning, 0 walks, 1 K, 0 hits
Carlos Marmol - 1 inning, 0 walks, 3 Ks, 0 hits

3 innings, 6 strikeouts, 1 walk.

There's nothing that makes me think that, barring injury, this won't be the way things for all season long. Wood was completely dominating with the Yankees as Rivera's setup man last year, Marshall emerged as one of the premier setup men in baseball last year, and Marmol... well, he's only set a record for strikeouts by a reliever, at nearly 16 K/9.

If we can get decent starting pitching and hitting, this could be a very good year.

lol, I realize that. I'm just saying that these guys were dominating last season, and if they continue that or get better... we've got a chance to do a lot of good things this season.

I saw a thing on CNN yesterday about 2 guys who won a contest and for the next 6 months will watch every MLB game in a mancave with 15 TV's. I cannot imagine entering that contest. It sounds like torture. There again even one game is torture much less 162 x ever how many teams plus post season.

Damn wtf is going on this year with the red sox. I know its early but im not used to seeing them tied for last place with 0 wins. and def. not used to seeing Orioles in 1st place either
