Right and we are doing the same with terrorists that are guilty of terrorist and racist (genocide) acts. Just because we are meeting force with force on a larger scale doesn't change the fact that it is the same principle.

We fight ideals everyday just on smaller scales.

Fighting an idea, especially ones that manifest themselves in unacceptable acts are fought not only with war. There are many angles used to fight an ideal, all of which that need to applied at the same time as possible in order to most effective.
Ah, but as we "fight" these ideals, we only create more and more contempt for us trying to force things on the people that already have these ideals. You're only going to breed more terrorists. We're not even in Iraq to "fight terrorism."

I disagree with you as expected. ;)

If someone tries to break into my home and that person is a criminal that comes from a family of criminals (just an example), if I shot and killed that person I'm sure their family would have contempt for me as well as per their mindset. Their mindset is wrong, plain and simple. Same with terrorists. Their mindset is wrong in how their ideals have manifested themselves into actions. That is what I believe. That is where a stand. I will not stand by and do nothing to protect my home and family from their bombs or from their screwed up ideals.

so you can't really blame them if they want to kill you back. Even if you were "justified" in shooting the person. But, the mindset of a terrorist and the mindset of a thief are totally different in nature, and so is their culture.

The above analogy is slightly different than what we are doing...

The above robber broke into your house. So now you are going around burning down the houses of anyone that he knows, then you move over to the next neighborhood and burn those house down because their may be burglars living their too. Besides, once those houses are gone, you can build a nice park their for your kids... I mean what the hell, it's not like you are burning down nice houses, those dirty poor criminals don't have the same rights you do....

that's a little closer to what's going on...
