Medical Insurance,

Trump Explains Dumbo Care

No one can sum it up better than Trump
Let me get this straight . . . ..
We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and
fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least
ten million more people,
without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,
written by a committee whose chairman
says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that didn't read it but
exempted themselves from it,
and signed by a Dumbo President who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who
didn't pay his taxes,
for which we'll be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect,
by a government which has
already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general
who is obese,
and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

Yes,
I wonder how the liberals will respond to the post

Trump is an always on the verge of bankruptcy businessman who markets himself well (even on some pure crap TV shows). Yeah, that's a guy I want involved in our government.

I'd call him an idiot, but apparently he must be doing something right to hold such high esteem in people's hearts. Then again, it may tell you something about the people LOL

The fine is $95 for the year. Considering how much ins costs, I seriously doubt it will make anyone get it or doesn't already have it. It's cheaper to pay the fine.

We had our ins agent come out last week (I run HR for a medium, 150ish employee business) we talked about all the law changes in depth. And all the loopholes of how businesses can get out of the mandatory offering of ins to everyone. Basically it's cheaper for everyone to pay the fines ($3,000/person a year for businesses). I seriously doubt this law will help anyone. But I do agree the heart of the matter is in the right place, just executed poorly.

For not offering ins, as of 2014.... yes.
Thats kinda high and is a substantial expense to a company.

IMO a company shouldnt have to offer ins to an employee...it is more of a benefit.
Since it is cheaper to pay the 3 k fine..we can see how much of an expense ins is.

3k comes out to 250 a month with roughly 160 hours in a work month thats about a buck and half an hour.
Ultimately this will make a business pass these cost down to the consumer as well as reduce the wages of the employee...this gives the consumer less buying power which reduces his ability to buy insurance.....as well as other purchase powers which is harmful to businesses.

The govt has no place in the private sector as there is no effective way to have a balance.
I suspect more businesses will be heading overseas due to the latest govt policy.

Just think of it as a tax for the 150ish company 450 thousand dollars...close to a half a million in addition to what they are already paying.
I can see this causing many more businesses to fold...thanks Obama

Also- you can't make the cost for ins (ie. the part you don't pick up) cost more than 9.something (I think it was 68?)% of the employee's salary. The ins also has to be at least a 60% coverage policy.

3k is steep, and a little closer to the actual cost (unlike the $95 fine for individuals not having healthcare).... I believe right now an average about $3.5k per employee, per year... which is 50% (we pay half, employee pays half). So not only in the fine cheaper, businesses wouldn't have to worry about dealing with healthcare at all, just pay the fine and be done.

Well that makes sense if you take 68 percent of a salary then start adding in the taxes there is nothing left ;) ....pretty convenient.
With your 3.5 k figures for half this comes out to 7k per person to insure for one year...kinda high considering many people havent been to a doctor for years.
Not to mention it may not be full coverage.
This 3.5 k that an employee would lose is huge and can drive many to the poverty level ....the 3.5 that the business loses gets handed down by lower wages...thus hurting him more...and also by increased prices for the good or service which in effect drive others into a lower standard of living via simulated inflation.

I agree, 7k a year for ins is huge.... but it's a standard HMO policy. In the few companies I've worked for in Ga, it's def. right at the average. That's why so many people are uninsured! It goes up to almost 10k and higher for families!

The high cost of insurance is due to no competition....not in no competition with other insurance companies...but no competition for the costs.
Example..If I bent up the fender on my car...I go get estimates{for fair pricing to the insurance co}...low man wins.
Without that I could roll up to a body shop and could get charged 10 grand to fix a fender.
This is what happens with healthcare....we roll up and get "fixed"
We couldnt even get an "estimate" if we wanted..as it will depend on what they find.
Its not like how much to get that new kindey doc...then you go see what the next hospital will cost.....and if you did the next hospital would merely say...we dont know we have to run our own tests.

Something to consider...A vet goes through many years of school ...essentially uses much of the same equipment but will cut of a set of balls for about the the price of dinner for 4 down the street.
Now when animal insurance becomes common the price will go way up as the customer essentially isnt getting the bill.....The vet will have mommas check book and charge a grand to cut out them same balls

As of current healthcare prices are not determined by what a customer will pay..it is by how much an Ins co is willing to spend in attorneys etc. to fight the ridiculous charges.
I dont know the current figures but at one time it was 40 percent of the revenue...it actually saved them more than 40 percent to spend that 40 percent.

Some places wont even accept some insurance companies as they will be a problem..

What we have know is insurance companies agree to pay a stated percentage of the bill....Ok sounds good...not really as all you do is elevate your price lol....They keep fighting to pay less percentage...healthcare keeps raising the prices in effect still fucking the insurance co.

It will only get worse if everyone has insurance as the few percentage of cash guys will now be gone...the slight influence they had will no longer exist
