1 question

I love the fact that my question has spawned this much HONEST debate, rather than "Screw you, dummy!" crap. :D

I almost phrased it as "Is there a God, and if so which one?" but thought that would be cheating.

Personally, I lean more toward the "universal spirit" Buddhist view rather than the "great beard in the sky" version seen in the more Western religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam). Even if I were to find out for sure "There is NOTHING out there and when you die you simply compost." I don't think it would greatly change my outlook. I never bought into the entire idea of reincarnation in any format and the remainder of my "belief structure" is based around the concepts of karma, inner peace and basically finding your own path.

i've been trying to say that both versions appear to me to have some basis in reality.

there does seem to be a completely inacessible singularity that is responsible for the existance of everything else but the prehistoric fragmentary knowledge we have does point to that beard in the sky and flying fire breathing dragons as well -- that the earth humans are just the retarded spawn of space traveling people left behind when the 'gods' finally died off or the cosmic controllers called a halt to their insane behavior.

what is it?

well.....in that area theres alot of methane under the earths crust, added to the fact that theres alot of tremors....the methane gets released in such vast quantities that no vessel can float on it,it creates a
void which the vessel sinks into...when the tremors stops the vessel simply gets swallowed up by water.

the methane rises and its highly flammable so any aircraft that passes through it explodes

History Channel special confirmed this.

Plus the ocean is a dangerous place and disappearances are not uncommon. Since that area is one of the busiest shipping areas in the world it's statistically going to have more disappearances.

History Channel special confirmed this.

With reference to the ship issue they didn't actually confirm it. They did prove that it's possible though. Quite the difference.

As far as the aircraft issue is concerned they haven't confirmed the same is possible. I would blame those disappearances more on weather. Nasty storms pop up in the blink of an eye and if you get caught in one you're a goner. I got caught on the outer edge of one once as we were flying into a sucker hole in a small civilian plane and was never so terrified in my life.
