Constant layoffs and contract work make people anxious even when employed. Do you think job insecurity is the biggest modern stressor? How do you prepare emotionally for uncertainty?

Evolution of advancements leave some of us as obsolete. I believe job security is not like it once was. Employers are more interested in following the bottom line.

In our country, if you get a government job, you get a job security, especially when your job is of managerial level. You get a good salary, provident funds as well as pension for your entire life after retirement.

Same thing happens in my country. When you are employed in the civil service in my country, you are assured of working for 35 years and your salary is increased after every three years.

No assurance though with private sector jobs as something can cause people to be laid off anytime.

I feel job security has become more uncertain in today’s economy. Layoffs, automation, and shifting industries make long term stability rare. Job security now often depends on adaptability, continuous learning, and diversified skills rather than guarantees from a single employer or role.

Job security has increasingly becime uncertain. Many industries face automation, restructuring, and economic shifts, making long-term stability rare. Even with contracts or tenure, roles can change or disappear. Building skills, adaptability, and multiple income sources seems more reliable than relying on traditional job security.

Yes, it still available in my country However, it's both doom and gloom. Pockets of stability still exist, just in a different form now. You gain some and lose some
