when you move you find out who your true friends really are? I mean seriously all those friends that say oh yeah call me Ill be there for you are suddenly are busy and something else has come up... I mean granted Im moving 1000 miles away but still, I find it kinda funny how that works. /ok end rant

Happened to me. I moved about 50+ miles from one friend I've had since high school. Not once has she been to see me. I always trekked there. The real kicker was when she got remarried. I was talking to her on the phone (I called her) and she said she only invited her 'friends'. WTF? I stopped calling and sending Christmas cards. Haven't heard from her since.

I however am a generous loving person who would bend over backwards for a friend if I had to. I guess with some people when you're all busy bending over... they just go right ahead and fuck you.
It hurts for awhile, but eventually, you get stronger. Makes you more cautious.

Yep. I had a girlfriend of 25 years. She was kinda miserable in her life, while mine was happy and I was always there for her. Once her kids were raised and she divorced her alcoholic husband, she didn't need me anymore. Blew my mind. :nod:
In hindsight, I realize it truly was a one sided relationship all those years. :ninja

I was the one who usually did the calling and going her way and doing the things she wanted to do. So I guess I was good when she had nothing else going on better. I learned that lesson.

My sister was friends with these girls Julie Jessica and Julianne and she was also friends with this french girl Emily and so her three friends became enemies to her and me and my family cause Emily wanted to be Nicole's friend and not theirs.

I find it much easier to avoid friendship. Thus far it has worked quite well for me
I agree this is a funny lil deal. I used to help friends, but then when needed help with something like moving they were like no way.
However, I'm really glad I do have a bunch of true friends. The last time I moved, which was a couple years ago, I didn't have to move any thing heavy. HEHE I had a bunch of guy friends helping me who took care of it all.
