We got into a really intense arguement that almost ended up in me pounding his face in the ground.

I was watching an all time favorite "Grandma's Boy" with all of my battle buddies and shovin' a couple of beers down my throat and laughing, taking in the good times. My roomate decides to join us and gets a phone call half way into the movie and starts talking kind of loud. I tell him "Hey man, could you tell them your watching a movie and call them back or go to your side of the room and talk or I'll pause the movie?" He said " No it's my sister who I haven't talked to in forever, I'll talk wherever I want." I told him the same thing again and he got really butt hurt about it and left the room and once he completed his call he went to bed.

After the movie was done I saw that he was awake and decided to find out why he was upset. He explained on how rude of me it was to tell him to leave. Personally, I think it's just common courtesy to get up and talk somewhere else but hey who knows..... It started to get heated because he couldn't understand why what I said wasn't to far fetched. I gave up and added a little quip " OK talk to me when you get it and get that dick out of your ass." He said " STFU or I'll kick your ass". BOOM that was it and I was definately ready to go. I'm sorry I've taken way too much shit in my life to be called out and not do anything about it. I got up and was ready to rumble I started yelling and telling him I didn't want to fight but lets do it.

After about 2 minutes of yelling in his face my Captain arrived and seperated us and told us to cool off. Keep in mind he's 18 years old and has a very relaxed attitude and a sense of entitlement (idk how to spell). He's been telling me STFU and I'll kick your ass for awhile now so I was done.

So I just have ignored him all day and I feel bad for what I did but then at the same time I think it has awaken him to not do that ever again.

Opinions?

i think that when your dealing with kids in that age group - it's hard to keep your head but it's easier to discuss rationally instead of yelling and screaming.
I do know what you mean about the whole entitlement thing. :)

Thinks he's entitled to be given rides everywhere, use my computer whenever, use me to buy alchohol whenever. Kind of a "I'm better than you" attitude.

I have no choice though... Army has chosen for me. I guess I'm going to have to get over it quick because when we deploy I'm with him 24/7 for a whole year, actually my whole platoon, 20 guys

Well you're stuck with the guy and might have to rely on him in battle one day, definately needs sorting out somehow, even if you feel you are in the right.

friends are friends and if you've been a good friend for a long time with him then you would pull the man cock out of your ass and talk to him instead of being a testosterone junky and kick his ass

no worries.......

i dont need to know the guy to "know" him.....

he's in the military, he gets fed up with his roommate.........rightly so, i would have done the same thing

roommate says one thing and he wants to kick his ass...

if i was this guy and my roommate pulled that shit with me........if this roommate had been a long standing friend of mine.....kicking his ass would have been the last thing i would have done......friends are better than that shit....

so i threw in some colorful description too...... and i'm generalizing this guy as every man i know that is in the military has testosterone oozing from every pore on his body......from reading what the OP stated........i gathered that from him as well.

sorry i should have stated that the lovely tart that posted above me calling me an arse........that sounds whiney to me....but whatev.

even though i'm a newb, i'm not going to go around and kiss ass and brown nose anyone. everyone is entitled to their opinion. take it or leave it.......call me an ass or whatever you want to call me......i dont care.......its the internet and i'm not going to get all butthurt over it either :)

Hm, tough situation. Maybe get a different room. Get someone to sort it out for you.
Or, talk to him. Tell him your sorry and that you were just pissed off.
I don't know, hm. There my options for you so far, more might come to hed soon!
