I blew it and did not brink the tripod. This was the last nite in NYC this summer. This is a pic from the Central Park side of the road looking back at the Dakota. The entrance in the middle is where John Lennon was murdered. :(

thankx for sharing :D

BTW... on my way in to work this morning, I wish I would have had my camera on me.
There was light fog and the sunrise was absolutely beautiful.... the trees would have looked black with the sunrise behind... across a farm field... I imagined entering it in the next pic contest here...

Very cool pics Bill!

thanks
nice buildings... sad event... love the colors at the bottom for the lights
yup
there is a gate at the sidewalk. they have a person standing there to keep people from entering. inside there is a small courtyard. he was killed just inside the courtyard. i had better angles but due to lighting they did not come out. thus the need for a tripod. i even went across the street to hold the camera against a street sign to keep from moving but no luck.

I have some better pics. some from the top of the Rockefeller Center in NYC. But I am saving them for the next contest. ;)

I have a ton more pics. I bought this camera this summer. along with the zoom lens. probably 1000 pics :eek

I took about 500 on the trip east. lots of them are crap but that is how you learn.

Interesting thread
thanks

yeah... save 'em for the next contest...

I take lots of pics on my digital and delete the ones that aren't as good as I thought they'd be. So yes... learning does take time. Even on a little old digital one!
