from what I understood hearing some lawyers talk if they had found her guilty of the lesser charges then they would have had to concluded she murdered the kid. And there was nothing factual to support that. No time of death, no cause of death, and no motive. Just a lot of things that added up to a pretty good idea what happened but nothing to meet the standard required.

system's broke
but we allready knew that

How can you say that? The system worked as it should...

She came into that court room innocent in the eyes of the law. It was up to the prosecution to prove her guilt... they couldn't do that.

Would you rather they assume guilt and try to prove your innocence?

She admitted to covering up the "accident" for 31 days while she partied and then throwing her child's dead body in the dirt. That alone there should have at the very least gotten her aggravated child abuse.

The prosecution wanted 1st degree, but the jury was instructed that they could find her guilty of lesser charges. Her defense team in the opening statement said that Caylee accidently drowned and that Casey and her father covered it up. Im sorry, but I just do not see how you get off scott free. She should have gotten manslaughter and/or child neglect (in my opinion). It was a circumstancial case, but she admitted to the drowing and cover up.

This is one darn interesting article

http://www.dailyregister.com/archiv...-Casey-Anthony-trial-an-exercise-in-absurdity

Makes me think the prosecutors are not done with this yet.

Also read an article on June 2nd by Wendy Murphy where she called it and said there would be an acquittal.

From what it looks like this may have been a child sex ring thing. Makes sense when you read this article. And if so the prosecution may have another bite at the apple. It makes sense then for them to go for the death penalty if there was a sex ring to try to get her to plea in exchange for outing the ring.

Before snickering.. read the article. Murphy is a well known and respected legal pundit on tv. She is no quack

It would be nice if this case didn't just disappear into the night as one more unsolved murder but it looks like it might. Can't imagine them trying to make another case against her.

I did, it's interesting for sure, but idk...hope they try again but it seems like they'll slink away with their tail between their legs.

So her admitting to Caylee "drowning" and then covering it up for 31 days was all a lie because she was actually involved in a child sex ring and someone took the child from her and killed her because she owed them something? That's kind of a stretch, no?

In all fairness... IF that were to be true (a big IF, I realize) then technically she would not be guilty of child abuse. If there had been an accident, that would not be abuse. And mishandling a dead body and being a huge cunt afterward is not abuse under the legal definition either.

Again, it boils down to what the prosecution charged her with. They failed to seek charges that fit the evidence they COULD prove. Had they done that, she would be staying in jail.

They provided a motive. There just wasn't enough evidence to convict her in a court of law, unfortunately. I personally don't think they should try to go after her for anything else. The case was lost and, even though it sucks, it's the way our system works.

The whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. She got away with murder, plain and simple. She could NEVER be tried for this again. I wish at the very least, it was a hung jury.

but then,, there is the civil suits , I hear she got served last night.

It will never be enough punishment even if she was in and out of court every day. I didn't hear that though. Just found this.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/os-casey-anthony-freedom-20110706,0,3686177.story

A local woman named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez filed a lawsuit against Anthony in 2008 claiming she was unable to find work and was ostracized after Anthony told her family and investigators that a woman with the same name kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Investigators briefly questioned Fernandez-Gonzalez, of Kissimmee, but quickly determined she had nothing to do with the case. The baby-sitter Anthony referred to as "Zanny" doesn't exist. The civil case was put on hold until the criminal case was complete. More...

Why are people complaining? The ruling shows that the justice system works.
