I am a pessimist at heart

This reminds me of when Clinton first was elected as far as president. Most of us who lean to the libertarian or the right thought he would be a disaster. He kind of was in a way the first year and that resulted in the republicans controlling the House for the first time in about 50 years. The republicans had a good handle on things then but got drunk on power. I predict the democrats will do the same. The idiots running things like to play gotchas for what the other party did when in power.

Personally I am more worried about whether the Democrats get enough in the Senate to stop filibusters. That takes 60 senators out of the 100. even worse is if they get 67 as they can almost bring any legislation to the floor immediately for a vote without committees and debate. I would not support such a super majority even if it was a party I fully supported. It would remove the checks and balances that keep things in some control

The mood here is depressing. We are in dire straits and even the rabid supporters on the far left and right probably agree on that. Things are so polarizing I do not see how Obama is going to be able to do much. Unless the Democrats get their 60 senators which is a possibility. Should that happen I might move to Canada :D

well technically it was to get enough done to get my license but the assholes at the state are screwing me sideways upside down so that won't get done quite yet.

other than that........... I got the lawn mowed. :D
