Ask me any question ..... Just don't expect to like the answer :D

Is there hope for change in the near future or will we be in it for the long haul?
we are doomed

one day it will all come crashing down

hopefully there will be better leaders to pick up the pieces.

I see nothing positive as we are a nation of sheep that are apathetic and always wanting somebody else to take care of us. instead of being responsible for ourself. at some point the system will collapse on itself.

I hope you are just being a bit sarcastic here!

I don't want to think those things for sure.

Work on your hope button, Bill.

not completely sarcastic

I am a pessimist and not an optimist.

We can not continue on as we have. The system will eventually collapse I don't see and bold leadership that is out there addressing the core issues. Instead we have morons that provide a massive bailout which is socializing the banking system.

As to your question................. Some might find it hysterical but keeping an open mind. I be totally against somebody or something but I will at least give there points some thought. next in line would be I think I am as honest as anybody can be.

They had no choice really. That's how we ended up in with Depression--banking system failed--you can't have that. This is why I am so conservative economically because the fucking system doesn't work unless you have good economic policy and its the socialistic policies that got us into it and at this point we have no choice but to have the government hold us over. I can think of a lot worse things they could (and do) spend tax dollars on.

I understand the reasoning. I can't with any authoriy on this topic other than I saw plenty of reports that there were other approaches that should have been taken first. Maybe this will all get paid back and we can say hip, hip, hooray. I suspect we are just being fleeced again. I would feel a lot more comfortable about it if economists had devised the plan rather than the morons who got us into this mess to begin with. there was all the hand wringing about credit being hard to get. Well, duh, maybe those people should be getting credit the same as all those that are unable to pay the loans that got us to where we are.

That was an interesting conversation there. I get caught up in that stuff myself.

Do you trust Credit Unions versus Banks?

never gave that a thought

I always dealt with banks.

Do credit unions not have the same govt protections??

I use a credit union. And yes they do ... up to at least $100,000.

I really like my CU. Easier to get loans and mortgages for the locals. Not the kind where you drown. They actually look at your income to debt ratio. They are very fair and reasonable. We don't get interest... we get Dividends!!! On both the checking and savings accounts.

Heck... each main member receives a free $1,000 life insurance policy! Not a lot, but it's free!

What size screen is your main TV at home?

If you were insured before then I imagine they raised the limit. banks were $150k and the bailout raised them to $250K Not sure if that got changed today as I was out of the office all day.

never heard they have the $1k insurance.

my tv is a 50" Sony. I like my setup....... ;)

I had a 60" but the speakers were on the side and it was huge. :eek
so I took it back..:cool

I heard that about the increase. Not sure when it goes into effect either.

Not sure if all CU"s offer the $1K deal. Mine does.

Geez.... I have a measly 25".....
