It prevents people from going rep crazy and repping back and forth just to increase each others reps... Once upon a time the geezers at the old haunt got all bent out of shape at the repping we were doing... that's why they reset the reps to 0 every so often over there now... it's lame..., they would NEVER have a fun ass rep party like we do here.... that would be "abusing the system" to those peeps

I have been on boards were it was carefully abused.. While buddies would use it to push up their own Rep level by giving themselves Positive Rep they would always ping Newbies with Negative Rep if they disagreed with you and would get their friends to do so as well.
I have said it often that I hate the Rep system.. I have seen many abuse it way to much..
Oh there have been some.. There will be more.. But they are few and far apart, Thank God ( Op's not the P&D section ):24:

I looked in there this morning and it was depressing. Same asshats, same topics. Here, you can count on at least a good chuckle most days.
And I really love having so many international members in the mix. It reminds us that there is indeed an entire planet outside the U.S.

This is generally why I don't mind how much rep I have past when Leah boosted the hell out of me the weekend of my 90 day tenure here so I could get into VIP. I always appreciate my rep because I've usually said something to warrant the rep. So I enjoy the smile, the laugh, or the small eConnection it makes me feel with the person on the other end of the rep.
