The Latest Republican Code Word

My question is do you think economic power is everything? Is being the most feared killing machine in the ocean of the ultimate importance? It just sounds like a bunch of college jock chest thumping to me. I'm sure projecting yourself onto the psyche of America and imagining yourself to be the alpha male gives you a hard-on is rewarding to you but it all sounds rather jeuvenile to me. I mean, what's the real point?

Your country lives under the umbrella of that protection, personally if Russia invaded Canada who'd give a shit. And don't give me the crap that your country can protect itself. Your ability to wage warfare given your "economic" prowess would last about 24 hours.

Hate to disappoint you living in the second rate country that you do but if added the economic output of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest producing countries in the world they still wouldn't equal the US. That is economic fact, live with it.

Second rate country? Very nice. I love it when you guys thump your chests. Tough is so appealing. :yuk

Yeah I have heard that argument countless times in countless threads in countless forums. So what's your point? The entire world should bow down and give praise for mighty America for our very existance? Such conciet!

You knpw, guys; I'm not here to "bash" America. I'm really just trying to get across the point that even though America's greatness and achievements are recognized and noted around the world, all nations have faults and one of America's is unfortunately in foreign policy and mostly in diplomacy. You have stated that Canada is apparently weak militarily and economically (even though Canada's economy has outperformed America's for the most part over the last few years) but there can be no doubt that the greater per capita military budget of America is due mostly to its commitment to agressive worldwide action.

If you can't truly admit to personal flaws and debate them honestly and fairly then there can be no dialogue- we can't even agree to disagree. Go ahead and tell me your country is perfect. If it is not perfect please outline any flaw or flaws it has and please don't blame everything on the left or the right!

Some of our members operate on the theory that "might makes right". Calling Canada a second rate country really is a poorly conceived insult, but when you consider the source... sometimes power turns into ego and goes to one's head.

The U.S has been very self serving in it's foreign policy, treating bad guys as good guys, then changing our minds, now they are bad guys. I suspect most countries operate that way from time to time, but because of the power of the U.S. we have had more opportunities to mess up especially when the policies from the past are biting us in the present. Absolutely we are not perfect and need to be reminded of our worst mistakes. Keep it up. :)

Well you are changing the issue now from a debate on power to a qualitative debate. I didn't even make the statement about power, Peter Parka did--you then said it was an illussion--I simply stated its a fact, right, wrong or indifferent.

Damn right I did!:nod::D

Yes, and factually you were correct is all I pointed out. Being the most powerful country does not make it the best country--when you talk about "best" country, now you are interjecting a lot of qualitative variables and it really comes down to a matter of personal preference. I think its the best country because I live here--I am sure many people think their country is the best country--some probably want to get the fuck out as fast as possible!!! :D

Bullshit. You do it every fucking chance you get. It eats at you. You post this bullshit in every forum you can and they you follow up with the sappy "well its America's foreign policy and diplomacy" yada yada yada. Have some balls once in your life and just admit you don't like the United States.
Big country, the USA though, think you're getting not liking certain policies mixed up with hating the whole country. Kind of a thing I dont like about the US, this whole agree with everything we say or you hate us thing. It really isn't that black and whiteyou know.;)

From an economic standpoint Canada is a second rate country. The fact that you have limited understanding of economics doesn't change that fact. Because of your lack of knowledge you attempt to paint someone else's statement with your prejudices. I state fact and that is ego. :rolleyes: I bet when you shit you apologize to the toilet paper.

You're one of those tell-it-like-it-is people and too bad if feelings are bruised. Just don't apply for a diplomat position. :P
