That's a bad word Amy:mad:thumbdown

It is prohibited in my home:nod:

No my kids arent allowed to say that either. I hadnt even heard of such a word before until my 5 yr old came home from kindergarten last week and told me I was one and I was like WTF? So I asked his sister what on gods green earth that was and she told me thats what the "new" thing the kids are saying.

I know I know, we're sensitive to it because we have a special needs kid, and that new Ben Stiller movie from what I have heard abuses that word pretty bad, terms like "Don't go full retard" stuff like that, so our chapter of Cure Autism Now is boycotting it:D

:eek are you serious? What movie is that?

And I dont think your sensitive at all. Its always good to hear that parents arent allowing their kids certain languange rather than some parents allowing their kids to say any and everything they please. Im sure you have heard some rather shocking things come out of some kids mouths that their parents dont care that they say.

omg ur joking?...seriously they use that line?..thats terrible...and ive always liked ben stiller.

I guess there are folks that think it's still okay.....honestly I never really thought about it much until I started to hear it more often.

I never have/or will comsider my child retarted, so technically it never really hit close to home, but for some reason it began to sting a little more, then I realized it was basically as hurtful as a racial slur.

Now it makes me sick;)

And as for a film, in this day and age, being made with that shit in it?...shocking.
