The Peter Thread

who makes the best fish and chips?

That's easy, on the suffolk coast, there are endless amounts of chippies.

They all catch the fish fresh, the best one I've ever been to is a little town on the north sea called Aldeborough, the chippie there is tiny, but every saturday night the line stretches down the street and round the bend. Amazing considering at any other time there are about 6 people in Aldeborough :24:

Well if you want to be picky about it, you should address me as Laird Peter.

Yes, that's right. I own a token square foot of land in Scotland which means I am officially a Laird and have every right to demand my title being referred to in official documents, my Granddad was an Ogilvie and I have my own tartan. I still consider myself English though in bloodline I'm probably more Scottish than you.;)

But yeah, I like Scotland, was a lovely place when I've been up there. It just seems that the Irish, Scottish and Welsh hate us more than we hate you. We'll cheer on Scotland in the football when you arn't playing England but in general, Scots will cheer on whoever is Englands opposision.;)

I don't think so. I have my own land here, plus I come from the Campbells, and have the Campbell tartan (which is also our carpet in our house!)

Lived in Scotland my entire life, and my grand dad served in the war for our country, he is still alive at the age of 97. :)

We have our reasons though, plenty of reasons.

What reasons today have you got that is anything to do with the current English to hate us other than the usual banter? You now have your own parliment yet you still have a say in matters that only concern England yet we dont have a say in matters which only concern Scotland. Surely we have more reason to be pissed off about that?

By the way, my Scottish Granddad fought on the front lines in the second world war for us and my great uncle died on the brink of victory fighting for the Irish rifles against the facists in Italy so that really dosent make any of us more patriotic than the other, especially as neither of us has been in battle for our country. ;)

ok.....why is it.....the scots, irish and welsh hate all english?......working men all over britain get screwed over,we're all the same...we strive to make a living........its the power people that should be hated not every englishman on the street

I'm only having a laugh with you, sheesh lol.. I don't generalise and stereotype, and hate all English. I know a lot of English people, and are mates with them. Just obviously can't stand the up their own arse English, that think they are the only country in Britain, clueless cunts.

Never mentioned anything about being anymore "patriotic", it was you that was trying to say you were "more Scottish" than myself. Which I'm saying isn't true, I'm nothing but Scottish, no English relatives or anything. Brought up and lived in Scotland for my entire life, and will probably carry on doing so. Will most likely get a place abroad, but will always have a home here.

Well you're one of the gems then, and I was only ribbing you too. Still dont understand why the hatred between the English and Scots comes more from your side though. Would it hurt you to cheer on England like we do Scotland?;)

And for the record, I'm not one of the people who think England are the only country in Britain, I dispise Britain and our flag being mashed together with those of other countries. Would much rather a seperate England, Scotland, and Wales team in the Olympics ect but then we would drop down the medal table slightly while you would be way down the list. Cant really understand why this devolution stuff comes more from Scotland and Wales than us, think our country in general isn't patriotic enough, hell, more is done for St Patrics day than St Georges day here!;)

This is my tartan by the way, I wore its tie for my wedding. I would have worn the kilt but it would have had to drag along the floor to decently cover my naughty bits. :D:jk

Oh, and it's still Laird Parka to the likes of you! Dont make me declare Prima Noctre (the Yanks who watch too much Braveheart will be lapping that up ;) ) :D

You would be surprised, and I disagree. I think the English can be just as bad when it comes to hating the Scots, as we do with the English. Every time I've been down to England, I've had problems with idiotic English apologising for handing me a Scottish bank note, until they realise I am in fact, Scottish. Or the other way around, giving me a look or saying they are unsure of accepting a Scottish bank note when it's completely legal tender, and the Scottish notes of Sterling were around before the English notes!! Just general things like this, and the way they talk about us, and think they are almighty. When really, these are just stereotypical, stupid people, so I shouldn't really think anything of it. Then again, you can't help but think about it. I do cheer on any British athlete or sportsman at the Olympics, and so on... I don't see why anyone wouldn't, if you're British.

It's Laird Stewart to you then too! :D

Fuck me, it's a cold wind out today. Just washed my car because it was in such a state.

People are retarded.

I have worked behind the till in a few places and so often the other person beside me says they can't accept scottish notes...

It makes no difference! It's not a foreign currency! :willy_nilly:

Edit: Also, I like the Scottish notes, I think they look better :) Although I'm a big fan of the new English coins.
