President: Barack Obama
Vice President: Hilary Clinton

Now that Obama has sealed the Democratic presidential nomination, can you imagine the historic and powerful combination these two would make?

When posed the question if she would be interested in being Obama's running mate Hilary's response was "I'm open to it" if it would help the party's prospects in November. This was disclosed by a participant who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the call was private.

Obama's campaign had no reaction to Clinton's comments, which raised anew the prospect of what many Democrats have called a "Dream Ticket" that would put a black man and a woman on the same ticket.

I think they would make a very strong combination and appeal to the wider public. Notwithstanding if they win, which I believe they would, it will be a double historic occasion.

Discuss.

Hummm, this one's interesting (the goings on with these two).

Over here, they say on the news reports, that Hilary actually ignored and evaded the fact that she hasn't won anything and could only be vice president, so that shows that she has a bee in her bonnet about it, I reckon.

We heard her little speach just this morning on it and she definately was avoiding things.

I don't think she will enjoy or cope with having 2nd best position in the country at all, but then her pride might make her take 2nd best, just because.

Could go either way.

I think he would offer it to her, but will be interesting to see what she does.

Plus, I love the fact alone, that he is black and has a good position there - about time.

He seems to be more for the ppl than himself - you can see the difference in body language between the two when up on the stages they stand on - one is thank you ppl, the other is 'look at me, I am better than anyone' kind of attitude.

I'd vote Obama any day over her if I lived there. ;)

Assuming she accepts and they put the past as past re each's campaigning, to work together for the greater good, don't you think they would make a very formidable team and strong presidency?

I am curious if he will even offer it to her. I think she would accept it if he did and use it as a stepping stone - that is the Clinton way. It is admirable how they never give up.

I think she'd accept but it's unknown if he would offer. If he really wants to ensure election, he should consider it.

I think it would ensure victory. However, his team and himself most likely would have had a suitable running mate for him already in mind. One that shares his philosophy and that he can rely on and trust.

Hillary Clinton would make a strong running mate for him to draw voters but he would have to ask himself (also his campaign team) if he would want to take that chance to have a vice president that may have eyes on the presidency itself and may undermine him for ulterior motives down the line. Shit happens.

As my Dad said, Obama would have to keep her locked down (from trying to upstage him- which is debatable. She might be able to be a good VP?) and they'd have to lock Bill out of the building. ;)

I don't he'd offer it or she would accept it--I can't see Billary playing nurse maid to another President for another 8 years--she'd been there done that with Slick./quote]

LOL@ "Slick"

ok even though I cannot vote since I am only a us resident I think the double whammy is something that the country needs. Not only on a historical basis but in a political point of view. That's my worthless 2 cents.

It makes me laugh how Hilary has been pulling every dirty trick in the book to beat Obama and now she's defeated she's kissing his arse.

I think she would accept, and I think he would be crazy to offer it to her.

IMHO, I think she would undercut him for the entire presidency. She had a reputation for being the co-president when we was just the first lady. Imagine what she would do with the Veep sign on her desk.

I think that's what Obama's side and a lot of others are thinking too.

Any more news on Sam Nunn??? I saw on the news that Obama was talking about asking Sam Nunn to be his running mate. I can tell you that the reaction around these parts is NOT GOOD!!! Sam Nunn is very well thought of around here...and a lot of people have said that they will move out of Perry if he accepts.

Tweedle dee and tweedle dum aint gonna happen.

and if it does and we are stupid enough to elect them then get ready for however many years of whining by the left about the right wing conspiracy. if 8 years of that crap with Billy Bob was not enough then this country deserves the crap it gets.
