WHAT THE FUCK?

Are these people specialized caregivers? And by specialized, I mean, are they trained in caring for children with emotional problems, or those with food sensitivities???

Those are the two biggest underlying problems that go unnoticed in kids and instead are just labeled as bad kids.

Sorry, but tying a kid to a chair, or any HARSH punishment isn't going to change his brain, if it operates a certain way, OR if they're involuntarily acting out from the reactions of food sensitivities.

CRAZY.

they are supposed to deal with special behavorial cases.. kids that just dont listen... i dont approve of what they did.. i think my ma's talkin to an attorney.. i just dunno what can be done about it..

Is this it? Click--> Staff3

Did they use belt-like straps/cuffs? Or did they use ropes? Was he being a danger to himself or to other children?

I'm just trying to form a mental picture here. What exactly caused them to take more action than him sitting in a chair/time out? Was he out of control?

How long has he been going there? If he has been there over 3 months, have your parents seen a difference at home? Has he ever come home with any type of bruises? Or has the overall experience been a positive one?

No they aren't supposed to tie him down.. what they used im not sure of.. i think my mom said it was a jumprope..

hes been going to behaven for 3 years... its really a good place they are awesome with him normally so i dont know what went wrong.. i do kno that his doctor had him on the baby form of riddlen and he was acting out really bad when he was on it so he just might have had a really bad day because of that.. never had any bruises.. once he had a black eye.. some kid kicked him on the play ground...

If the Ritalin caused him to act out really bad - then he shouldn't be taking it and it also means that if they are trying to diagnose him with ADD or ADHD ... they are more than likely misdiagnosing him. When you do not have ADD/ADHD and you take meds for it, one of the side effects can be aggressive/violent behavior. I've experienced it first hand in my family. Also, Nancy can explain more on this as it is her expertise.

Now, if I am understanding correctly, this center is run by doctors/mental health professionals. So more than likely depending on the contract your parents signed the doctors would have the authority to restrain him if he was being a harm to himself or others. But for this type of facility I would think they'd have a 'safe room' for these types of outbursts instead of having to use restraints.

Jumpropes???? Something sounds very wrong here.

What are your parents going to do about it?

they do have a safe room type thing.. im not sure why he wasnt placed in there.. a lot of it just dosent make sense.. my mom sadi she was going to talk to an attorney and see what needs to be done.. he still goes to the same center and the actual caregiver who tied him down has been suspended...

This shit sounds like the 1950's, where they used electroshock "therapy" for "patients" that were too hard to control. Which made them even more insane.Good idea to restrain a child who is angry anyway, instead of alternative means. "We'll just throw 'em in a room, or tie 'em down! That'll learn 'em!" Looking forward to the next generation of serial killers.
