they're now using the army to try and save people......they're at full stretch apparantly.......my question is.....wheres the offers of international help?.....wheres the expert equipment?.......every time something happens the offers come flooding in......so why not this time?

My guess is that China are likely to be nearly as hostile as the Burma government towards help.

Yeah China has to look good because of the olympics, I'd imagine organisations like Christian Aid and the Red Cross are completely stretched out in Burma right now, so Governments should be helping more...

But they're not, and I wonder why...

They're a developing country, they're not like Japan who have gone through all the stages of development, they're still at the beginning.
Technically, they are third world.

I would imagine that foreign assistance is not allowed through the border. They've got like 27 trillion people there, they're not hurting for manpower.

I don't see why... They have a large population, chinese people are smart people, and it only a small percentage that are affected..

it was on the news over here.......the army was having to march over 25 miles to effected areas......and guess what.......they were carrying buckets......yes.......they aim to get people out with buckets

I am glad that the Chinese Government has been more open to aid and assistance than the Burma's military junta. Its going to speed up rescue efforts and make sure more aid is sent to those who need it. Its quite saddening that the deathtoll may be over 50,000

The affected area's are remote..

..and you are assuming about the buckets... I'm sure they know what they're doing with the buckets..

Population density is different in China to the rest of MEDW or LEDW, there is a comparitively very high population in rural areas, India is similar - although not quite so much.
