How do you make your grilled cheese? Any secrets besides butter on the bread and cheese slapped in between? I have been in a grilled cheese mood lately and am looking for the best way to make them. Or an excuse to make them a different way.
One thing I have put on there before is some sliced pickles, it was pretty good that way too.

We call it a "happy waitress" in Jersey....

Just a grilled cheese with some tomaters on it :) (I dont like it that way though... but its an idea)

Anytime I make is, I dont use butter... I use the George Foreman grill :)

I just use velveeta cheese, but you might be able to try with some different types of cheese, mix some swiss in, or put some oregano in it perhaps? :)

BEST grilled cheese ever...buy a BLOCK of cheddar...slice it a quarter inch thick...use sourdough bread and butter up your bread...and if you want get some fresh honey ham sliced at the deli...mmmmmmm
oh yeah, and do it no higher than medium heat...i usually do it for a long time at medium low and it comes out the best
bacon is also really yummy to add :D

that would be REALLY yummy with some bacon, and then when you have it made you can even dip it in some kind of tangy bbq type sauce or whatever type sauce

Oh dear lord I want to try that so bad right now! Im gonna write this down so I can do this when I get off work tomorrow!!

It sounds kinda gross, but it's not. Use sharp cheddar cheese, sliced off the block, and put some bacon on it. Then get a really thin slice of Granny Smith apple and put it on there with more cheese on top of it. It's awesome! Paula Deen has the recipe on Food Network, and she made some sort of mayo sauce to put on it, but I haven't tried that.

I love two different cheeses. So, usually american and something else. I PREFER Velveeta! And swiss. Another lovely mix is american with pepper jack!
