We have an anime thread in TV, Why not a Manga thread in literature.

I haven't read much manga. But, I am currently still reading the Elfen Lied manga. Already done with 88 out of 107 chapters, and I have to say that this is quite an epic story. I personally think this is better than the anime version of Elfen lied. The anime only covers the first half of the manga series, and has a few changes been made. The manga is also a lot more detailed with the story.

It's not really a childrens book. In fact, you'd have to be crazy to think this is for children. It's got way too much violence, blood, gore, nudity, and themes, that children, and even people with weak stomachs couldn't handle it.


Anyways, any manga you guys have read?

When I was in highschool I read the Alice 13 (i think) series it was alright.. not something I think I would be able to get into on the regular but it was alright

i think of elfen lied as a feminist re****se to tentacle rape. instead of monsters with giant penises sprouting from the back theres naked girls handing out invisible hand bitch smacks. i enjoyed the anime, but i dont think i have the cash for the manga. i bum a lot of manga off friends.

my favorite manga series of all time is GTO. The Battle Royale manga is good. Love Hina. Chobbits. I just found a manga series of Karin, and ive been meaning to watch/read that series for a while.

Elfen Lied hasn't even been licensed for english distribution, yet. Unless you wanna buy it in Japanese. I've been reading scanlations of it.

I haven't read much manga, even though I love comic books. I'm waiting to read Akira though. Always looking for great stuff to read.
