Am I the only one that gets irritated/paranoid that a person can speak pretty good English but they hafta fucking revert to there native tongue when talking to their friends. And yes both knew English.

Maybe those two find it easier to communicate in their native language when they can. It's rude though...if you're hanging out with them then they talk with each other in a language you don't know..
In SA, it's pretty much the norm.
We have 11 official languages (Not even counting any foreigners), so odds are the people you're speaking to are going to chat to one another in some other language.
Very few of us speak or understand all 11 languages LOL

Dana, no offense, but it really pisses me off when people, well, get pissed off about this. What is so offensive about people communicating with each other in whatever way they feel most comfortable? Unless they're in a conversation with you, you shouldn't be listening in anyway?
Admittedly, if your friends are doing it while they're with you, it's kind of like whispering or whatever, but apart from that I don't really see the problem.

what native tongue dana?sounds fascinating ,ever thought about learning the other language ,it seems you would have an ideal opportunity to practice and aquire another language too .
a friend of mine is learning welsh ,we live on the border so there are many welsh speakers here ,and im considering learning polish next year ..the job opportunities here if you speak polish are amazing now and very highly paid .

its along squiggly line between england and wales ..if i drive to whitchurch i go through wales for a mile ,if i drive to wrexham i go to wales ..both towns are where my nearest supermarkets are .
road signs here are in both english and welsh ..they were in polish too for a while

Dude I live something like 45min away from the Mexican border. I hear it all the time.
One time this man and his teenage son came into my work. His son was asking questions for his dad. His dad was talking to him in spanish. Anyway halfway through the conversation. The father starts talking to me in perfect english. When they walked away. I turned to the guy who was with me and said What the fuck.
I think that was just ignorance from a man who knew the language but was too lazy to speak it.:willy_nilly:

YES! My two best friends are both Latino's (I'm not) They ALWAYS have to talk in Spanish and I yell at them for it now cuz it's so annoying... I'm like, "I DON"T SPEAK SPANISH!!! English plz."
