I gotta say

As I understand it, the "Leave a Message for a Forum Member" was removed mainly because it was being abused by members taking it to pass their bitterness to others, often unprovoked, with too many hostile comments under cover of supposed anonymity and also by name calling.

All communications between members has NOT been relegated to occasional comments written in reps. That is just not true. They are way many avenues of communication available.

There have been certain members going out of their way though to push limits and cause trouble for ulterior motives.

Some of ya should re-read Breaths post after taking a spoonful of sugar and realize it was a mere joke. Not like a mean joke, but a 'haha' joke.

I understand that there is a lot of tension as of late, but whenever someone says something that can be taken two ways, it's almost always taken negatively and that simply promotes the feeling of tension that we're trying to negate with the removal of said negative thread.

Lighten up. Laugh a little, even if you think it's bad.

Well James, I had to assume she was being serious. There was nothing to indicate she was joking.

Lightening up is all well and good but when you consider the amount of nonsense that has been going on with members abusing privileges and otherwise covert behaviour, notwithstanding the staff at OTz have been extremely lenient for the longest while, you have to understand our concern to react accordingly to get things back in order or some semblance of order in the interest of the whole.

Perhaps, just perhaps, some members have taken our laid back style to mean that they can continue with the flagrant abuses without recourse for as long as they could get away with it.

You've just admitted you made an assumption, and you can't react accordingly as an unbiased moderator if you're making an assumption without clarification. Correct? Find the harm before putting a negative spin on it.

My point is, two mods commented on her post. If it was taken negatively or seriously, it should have been handled via a PM, no?

If everyone continues making mountains out of mole hills, the problems that we seem to be suddenly having will never be fixed.
