Last cigarette

......I have drafted help though, a muslim friend of mine (non smoker, non drinker, non sexer) is giving me encouragement, and a fiver if I go a week.
£5 score! Thats one pack right there! ..... oh wait.... bugger.

That's cool for encouragement.

easier said then done

chew some sugarless gum if you have too. or keep a pen with you. a keep it between your fingers

:humm:You know, that sounds like a good idea.

i kept gum in my mouth at ALL times when i waas awake. I also started biting my nails down to the nubs. Sometimes, if I was REALLY craving...id roll up a piece of paper and suck air through it and pretend i was smoking lol. The hardest part was when i stopped taking the chantix, for about a week...but i wanted to do it myself after a month and not depend on medication.

I did that this morning :(
I spent years growing the nails on my right hand to play guitar, which for me is a big achievement because I am a nail biter anyway - and now they are gone.

Wish you all the best of luck, I know I couldn't do it right now. You have to really want to give up or all the tricks in the world won't help.
Mind if I ask what the trigger was that made you want to give up?

Cheers.
I'm not really sure, it might be the fact that my heart beat is starting to scare me, even just doing nothing I can feel it beating really fast.

If you can make it 3 days without any nicotine, the addictive drug will be out of your system. So don't bother with nicotine replacement that will only put the drug back in. It will take much longer for all of the other chemicals to get out of your body though. My body did some pretty weird stuff during the first 90 to 120 days of my quit. Yours may not though. I chewed gum like a madman when I first quit as well. It helps a lot. I also took showers when I was craving really bad. There was something about everything smelling so good that I really liked. I loved it that my hair smelled so wonderful ... no cigarette smoke.

Congrats on your first 24 hours, now just keep repeating that. You can do it!
