almost 70.00 a week to fill up my Jeep. this is getting rediculous. and you hear on the news. Exxon mobil got a 40.6 BILLION dollar profit last year. :wtf:

Why is it a conspiracy out of interest?

It may be a complete rip off, but that's what all companies set out to do.
 
let me rephrase. it def. a conspiracy IMO. Last time gas was near 2.00 a gallon was in 2006 i believe right before the elections. after the elections in shot straight back up. The Government has more say in these price then they are letting us believe imo. as soon as we went to war, gas prices went up. when hurican katrina hit us. Gas prices went up.

take some of this 40 billion a year profit and build some more refineries.

It's slightly changed from what I remember, back when I saw it detailed the stakes that high level members of the US government have in the company - it was quite scary.
Now it's slightly more geared towards the skewing of climate research scientific data, but if you search through it you can still spot the governmental people and organisations in there.

I get around 16 mpg. It sucks, but I tell my friends that unless I get gas money, they don't go anywhere. That helps to keep my tank full. It's funny, they keep saying I'm just being cheap and an asshole and shouldn't make them pay since I'm their friend, but fuck that! With gas prices like they are now, I can't afford to drive them all around and still have enough gas for me to do stuff and drive to school each day. I love my friends but I HATE driving with them. They never make up their minds. We get half-way to one place, and they have me turn around, after they change their minds, and go somewhere else. I did four U-turns in less than 30 seconds the other day, just because my friend was too stupid to decide where she wanted to go! :mad Then she calls me a jerk for demanding $40 in gas, or she won't be riding with me again. Ha, no problem on my part, I don't mind going out by myself. It's better than having to push my car home.

I usually hang out there too, but I live in a hella small town, with nothing to do, so all the actually places, like movie theaters and malls, are in the next city over. So I have to have enough gas to get there and back, plus play all the stupid-ass games when the person can't make up their mind, and I have to turn around, go here, go there, etc. I used up an entire tank of gas last week, in only four days. It was ridiculous. My friend has $300, won't give me ANY of it, he's saving it for a tattoo. Yet he expects me to drive him around.
