Part of a review on the PPC-6700 -

As a PDA, the Sprint PPC-6700 performed admirably. Windows Mobile 5 still isn't nearly as friendly or intuitive as the Palm OS, and the smallish screen makes for smallish text relative to a full-size PDA, but it's hard to argue with the functionality. Movies, music, and most games ran smoothly, though the unit was sluggish when opening large documents and loading applications. Even something as simple as switching screen orientation, which happens automatically when you open or close the keyboard, was slow. What's more, our demo unit took a surprisingly long time to reboot (nearly 2 full minutes), and for some reason, Windows Media Player simply would not run.

WTF? No way in hell am I going to deal with that!

Agreed. Configuring a Windows Mobile phone with Exchange is a friggin breeze. Although in my experience here at the office, the Treo is a total failure. I have some users here on their 4th and 5th Treo.

This is what I'm currently ordering for our attorneys

vzw_xv6800.jpgVerizon Wireless XV6800
  • Megapixel Camera Bluetooth QWERTY Keyboard Removable Memory Touch Navigation
  • Video Messaging

That looks similar to the "Wing" that T-mobile has, great format, great O/S.

Unfortunately my company has a ginormous deal with Crackberry, and we have the RIM servers/support so it does actually work well for us. HOWEVER, I would much rather use a Windows platform, seeing as how every other damn thing we have is Windows.

I do have my company as well as my personal email routed to my Blackberry and have never had issues, except during that "little issue" with RIM and Blackberry a year or so back, we all lost our service until that got settled.:mad

Get the most out of your BlackBerry® smartphone with BlackBerry® Desktop Software—an integrated suite of applications that manages the link between your BlackBerry smartphone and your email account, organizer and more.

  • Load new applications and upgrades from your PC to the BlackBerry smartphone
  • Back up any important information from the smartphone to your PC or restore previously saved files back to your BlackBerry smartphone
  • Transfer files between your computer and your BlackBerry smartphone’s internal memory or optional media card external memory (when you’re running BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2 and BlackBerry® Device Software v4.2)
    • Now with BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2 SP2, you can use the Roxio® Media Manager that comes with your smartphone for quick CD ripping, converting and transferring your music and video files to your smartphone. Learn more about the Roxio Media Manager.
  • Migrate data from a BlackBerry smartphone, Palm® Treo or Windows Mobile® based device to a new BlackBerry smartphone (when you’re running BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2.)
Running BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution? Here’s what else you can do with BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Create an Auto Signature to be included in the body of your outgoing email messages sent from both your smartphone and desktop PC
  • Filter the email messages you receive on your BlackBerry smartphone by key words, message fields (including From, To, Cc, Bcc, Subject) and message body

Personally, I say for personal use, go with a Windows O/S, I do have to agree with P/T and Cotton that those types of smart phones are typically geared for more ease of useage, I just think Crackberrys are great because I have come up in my industry having to use them.

However, my wife loves her pearl, I mean loves it.

lol, I thought I read that part right!

I also heard it's faster than the other PPC phones that were mentioned, (I posted above from a review), in regards to flipping around and what not. I don't want to have to wait to load up some shit, every single time I need to flip to another document or application. I'm going to be looking at financial reports/spreadsheets. Those are bigguns and I need a phone that won't have me cursing every few minutes at it's slowness, when I need to approve travel requests, timesheets, etc....These aren't just emails I'm dealing with.
