wow. So KY, TN, and GA all honor a license. So I'm safe driving down to see Veronica.

What does that IN Res Permit Only for Florida mean? I can only be a resident of Indiana? That it should be honored in Florida as well?

If so, I can take it with me the entire trip.

i honestly wouldnt carry a gun with you if you are going out of state. especially if you end up getting pulled over or at a road check where they decide to search your car. it would be one headache after another. just keep a tire iron near by you in your car. thats all the protection you may need from any would be carjackers.

i am actually licensed by the US Government thru where i work at to legally transport alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives anywhere in the US :)

 Still waiting on rep for finding you that :D

Kinda funny, I knew about it, but Jona gave me the same sheet at the store and told me about before I even said I want this gun.

:p

Sorry, I'm taking it with me. It's not a headache if my license is valid, and once I apply for it, my buddy can check on it's validity for me at any time at work. IF... and thats a huge IF... I get pulled over, all I have to do is tell them I have a firearm and a valid license to carry it and I'll be just fine.

Alot of people carry guns nowadays. There are alot of criminals out there.. especially while driving. My dad carries his gun with him everywhere... all my officer friends, do the same. Personally, I dont like guns in my house since I have kids.. However, I understand people's need to protect themselves. In my profession, I see ALOT of crime. I also see that if people were armed, then problems would be alot worse.. criminals would be shot.. etc.. Not really sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.. However, the fact is.. Guns are a form of protection. And it is ok to have a gun with you AS long as you have a permit to carry one.

James- good call on telling the officer you have a gun and lic. ALSO, Make sure you have the gun OUT of view. If a police officer sees it on your seat, they are gonna immediately call for back up and draw their gun on you as a precaution.

Does that gun have a strong recoil?

I'm not sure, haven't had the chance to actually fire it.

Oh definitely! It'll be stowed under my seat/and or on my person under my clothing (belt clip), etc.

The first thing they ask when they walk up is if you have any weapons or drugs on you, the first thing out of my mouth will be that I do have a weapon, and I'll gladly step out and allow you to confiscate it if you so desire. I have no desire to scrap or get in any trouble with any law enforcement officer. I know what they deal with, and I don't want to cause them more grief. :)

NOT on your person!!! And don't forget that you need a concealed carry license to, well, carry concealed. When you get pulled over, don't make any sudden movements (ESPECIALLY after you've advised the officer of the weapon in your vehicle) and make sure your hands are visible at all times. The first thing out of your mouth should be "Officer (or Deputy), I need to advise you that I do have a loaded firearm in the vehicle. It is located blahblahblah. Would you like me to exit the vehicle?"

On a point of interest, it's cool that you want (or have already gotten now) a gun to take around with you wherever for personal protection and whatever else (that's your right) but why didn't you just come out and say so before that's why you wanted it instead of giving people the impression you wanted it for firing range practice....not necessarily for what you're saying now?

I have a firearm phobia... Even the pictures of it make me uneasy, especially the last pic of it actually in Jamie's hand.

Needless to say, I do not own one...

Cool gun, and I conceal carry most of the time, especially on trip within the state, I have a concealed handgun permit.

Just fyi, I would stay clear of Blazer ammo, it's okay for practice, but I would never trust it all the time, I would stick with Federal JHP's.

That's just me.

I carry a H&K USP 90 in the .40 S&W, I love it.

I used to carry a Springfield Loaded or a Kimber, now those stay in the gunsafe.

Cool deal James, and don't ever be afraid to get a permit and exercise your rights to the fullest to bear arms.
