We got her in August, exactly a week before I started working full time. She has always been incredibly sweet, but I have always thought that she was very dumb. She never picked up on ringing the bells and ALWAYS messed in the house...like I'm talking at least once a day, and that's on a good day. She is Matt's baby though and he loves her to death. When we moved we had planned on taking her through the same training camp that Kodi went through, but it looks like we aren't going to need it. It is incredible. Since the day we got here (Monday) we haven't been doing anything differently, but she hasn't had a single accident inside. She has done a total 180. We do have the yard now and they probably go outside a bit more often because of it. Last night we decided to test her and see if she could go the whole night without an accident, and we let her sleep in our bed. She did amazing. I am so proud of her. Turns out she's not dumb afterall. She has been extra sweet lately too, she follows me around everywhere. I think she is happy that I am home with her most of the day now too.

she just needed space and a different environment to turn her around :D

i think the funny part is that i haven't been doing a thing differently. All this time she KNEW better she is just a stubborn little shit and wanted to go in the house. Now she doesn't because we're in the new house. lol. I think she kept going on the floor at the old place because her scent was in the carpet.

its so funny and cute, whenever i give kodi or riley attention the other one always tries to jump in the middle and kodi will even start making whining noises like "hey whatabout me!" I think these dogs just need my full time attention, oh well good excuse for me to stay home and enjoy my pregnancy lol.

I bought my dogs a new crate, cuz the one I had wasnt mine... and I finally decided to get my own.. Anyways, they would randomly have accidents in the crate.. NOTHING now in almost 2 weeks...

Environment=everything!!

it's probably because there are no urine/poop smells in your new house floors. Dogs figure out where to pee/poop based on the smells left by other animals (they want to put theirs on top to mask the other smells).

So if any other dog had pooped or pee'd on your other carpet .. she was probably not accidentally doing it, she just couldn't help herself.

Most cleaning products don't clean away the smells the dogs are looking for either, in fact they can enhance them .. since most cleaning products are amonia based .. as is pee/poop.

dangit!!!! I spoke too fucking soon!!! When I walked in the door I saw pee on the tile. Not much, and it wasn't on the carpet thank God but PEE is PEE! GRRRR! I didn't punish her i just put her outside, she can stay out for a little while.

sorry, but no I am not going to buy puppy pads. My dog is old enough to hold it, and i dont leave them out when no one is home. Puppy pads only encourage them to pee INSIDE. They are only of use when the puppy is very young, but mine is 8 months old already. Thanks for the suggestion anyways though!

Hmmm... the way I've always trained my dog... when the go inside, I point to it and firmly say no, them take them straight outside. When they do their business outside, I praise them for it and sometimes give them a treat. Had both my dogs house trained within a week using this method.:)
