You can fall in love with someone you have not as yet met personally through communicating with them regularly otherwise as example over the internet. Through regular communication feelings foster and you get vibes from one another and oftentimes more so, in the interim, than meeting one another and communicating a smaller amount of times and for briefer periods otherwise. Of course knowing what the person looks like comes into play and is important and this I would imagine is exchanged via pictures early on in any case.

So there is both verbal and visual stimulation involved. Also the excitement of meeting sometime in the near future to culminate the relationship. So yes, it is possible and it does happen.

This thread is in no way Emo or drama-filled. It's a legitimate question she has. In a tight-knit forum such as this one, where people get to know one another and spend a lot of time communicating with one another, something like this is bound to happen! And I personally think it's awesome!! Of course, I'm slightly biased. :ninja
 
That's tough. If you love someone based on their ideas in a somewhat unnatural environment for interaction like the internet (I'm presuming that's what you're talking about,) it might be a bit of a stretch from that to reality. So many other things come into play.

I remember dating a girl who I probably would have had a blast with in an internet community. We had asimilar sense of humour, we cared about the same things. We were at each others throats within two months. We just didn't gel.

It's very unlikely that the girl I'm seeing now would like me or I would like her in the internet environment. Very different ideas about things, very different temperaments. But for some reason, we get along great.

That's not to say that it can't work for people. But I'm a little skeptical.

To answer the glorious question the origional poster was so amazingly cool to ask is, yes you can. I have fallen madly in love Kate and we have only spoken here, on the phone and skype chat. I cant picture my day without talking to her. She is my one and only. ;)
