When I Grow Up...

That happens to me a lot even though I'm finished with school, settled in my career and have a house with somebody I plan to marry. To be honest I do not ever want to feel completely grown up. You have to hold onto some part of your inner child.

i think you missed the point of this thread....

I don't think he missed the point of the thread.

You talked about being grown up and claimed you are, so Bob asked about the things that might mean you are grown up, i.e. having a job and living on your own.

But you have no job. You live in an apartment above your mother. (So where does your income come from anyway?) Doesn't seem like you are grown up, going by some very loose definition of it, so your thread title implies that you know you aren't grown up.

I didn't know being grown up meant one HAD to work but I used to.

It really doesn't matter how I get my income...

But FYI to clarify any confusion...
1. I was born with a medical problem
2. I pay rent and live above my parents because my mother man owns this building and it happened to be that when I was working this apartment was up for rent and he offered it to me.

I know he's just trying to rub me the wrong way because of the things I've directed towards him.

I didn't see that at all. If there is some little skirmish going on between you two, then work it out between yourselves. To me it looked like he took your thread title seriously, and was giving examples of things that seem grown up to him (and to me as well).

As far as your medical condition, I believe you've alluded to that in the past. If that prevents you from working, then I understand.
If it doesn't prevent you from working, then there can be all sorts of assumptions about your income.

You admit that you've directed things toward him...why? I don't see him as being one to retaliate, in any case. He is SILENT, ya know. :p

In my family it does, but everyone has their own standards.
