I wouldn't say ' if I don't hear from you; oh well.' You are the one that is going after him. You want him to be happy about this situation. Maybe the best thing to do is keep it short after all. Just ask for the email address and be done with it, no point in making a huge deal over it.

Just go up to the kid and tell him what you feel. Giving a note to someone to give to someone to finally give to him will make things awkward. After the note is given one will have to approach the other...and if your this shy about it then you probably wont, and he may not. So just cut out all the nonsense and just tell him what you feel and hopefully things work out for the best.
You're overdoing it. If you do all of that in a class, when others can see it, then he'll be embarrassed. Start with just a note if you can't actually talk to him face-to-face. Forget the chocolates or anything else. Slip it into a book or in his binder or folder anonymously. Give the e-mail address and just hope he writes to it. I wouldn't do the poem. Most guys aren't into mushy poetry, so he won't be impressed. He sounds like a smart guy, so say something intelligent, instead of trying to impress him with rhymes.

I think he is shy when it comes to girls, not neccacerily everything else... I think I am just going to drop by the attendance office, and drop it off on the desk... with my name attatched to it of course. If I did it here, do you think the chocolate would still be to much?
