I was F'ing PISSED off.

Glossary of Terms
Demarc - box where the lines are interconnected between the poles and the wiring inside the location.
CO - Central office, where telephone lines are generated.

Now ya'lls might understand me some. :p

I hate Verizon. I honestly want to punch every verizon employee.

We had someone call in around 4 today and ask us to come take a look at their phone.

Normally we don't do residential, but this was easy money. Verizon just hooked up their phone line and left. When I get there it's just crossed/open pair static on the line.

So I open the jack and put my tone on the wire and go outside. Open the box, pull those pairs off and I have tone. Close the pins and slab, I have no dial tone.

The crossed/open pair is OUTSIDE, meaning either in the CO or in the lines between the CO and the demarc at the customers location.

After I deliver the news to him, he calls verizon, then goes through 10 minutes of auto-rambling BS and gets hung up on... then I call, go through 10 minutes of auto-rambling BS, and as soon as a person picks up, I get disconnected. :mad

Frustrated, I call back in. I finally get through to a live person after 10 more minutes of auto-rambling BS.

I tell them who I am and what I've checked and that I need the tech who installed this line back out here NOW.

You know what she fucking tells me? "All the techs go home at 5 pm".

My BS flag has NEVER, EVER been flown so high. I know they have pagers. I know they have cell phones. I know they are eligable for Overtime.

I told that shithead to get her ass on the goddamn phone to the dispatchers and to get the idiotic moron of a tech back out here TONIGHT. These people paid 60 dollars for an installation service that was absolutely horrible.

This guy hooked up the line about 3 hours prior and left without even bothering to test it at the demarc. What the hell kind of idiot does that shit? TEST WHAT YOU'RE WORKING ON THEN YOU WON'T HAVE TO GO BACK.

Nothing pisses me off more when Verizon fucks up and I can't help the customer get his dialtone, and then Verizon tells me that no one is available to come back out and fix their problem. :mad

I don't get why these people are so persistant in being so fucking lazy. Grow a pair, realize you're wrong and stop trying to fuck us techs, and the customers over.

Aha... I now know where British Telecom get their Customer Service (hahahahaha oh the irony kills me) Staff from.

The rest of that post just went over my head. :-)

LOL

Ok Cliffs.

Customer has telephone line installed.
Verizon fucks up installation and they have no dialtone.
I go out, test, then call Verizon.
I get a BS excuse from customer service.
I bitch her out and get her to see it my way.

That's better - but somehow doesnt convey the anger quite as effectively though :)

i got a buddy of mine that works here at Verizon as an installer and as James stated they do have company cell phones AND work overtime like nobodies business. they just didnt wanna come out and fix it since it was late but i can guaran-damn-tee that there was quite a few technicians still out in the field working.

i wouldnt be surprised if that customer decides to cancel Verizon because of the shitty attitude at the call center from the person you talked to James. especially the fact that they not only hung up on you the first time, but they hung up on the customer whom you were trying to help.

Don't get me STARTED on Verizon. For one, my family, 3 of us, bought phones about a year and a half ago. Mine started acting up a few months ago (mind you a 2 year plan) so I went in to buy a new phone...well the chocolates said 40 bucks, so I went to the counter and asked for one. The associate looks at me and says "that will be $219"....WHAT THE ****!? the sign said 40...well no, apparently thats what the phone costs with the 2 year agreement...well what do I care what it costs with the 2 year agreement??!!! It says thats the cost of the phone...so anyways, screw it, I don't have 200 bucks to throw down...so they look at the phone and tell me its my battery...well the phone isn't even 1 year old at this point. "well the battery warantee lasts only 3 months, so that's going to be $49.95" fine, what the eff ever, I need my phone, its the only communication i have aside from computer, and I'm on the road a lot...so I pay my 50 freaking bucks, and I'm on my way. 2 months later, my dad's phone starts doing the same thing mine did. We take it in, and sure enough, battery. So now they want him to pay 50 bucks...after some managerial quarelling, it came down to pay 50 bucks, or have no phone...so my dad had to pay the 50 bucks...which means my family has spent 100 dollars on phones in the past 2 months, and they aren't guaranteed to last any longer....the manager said his wife goes through batteries all the time--yeah...and she prolly gets em for free while we have to pay top dollar. screw verizon, i'm done with em after my plan is up

Hey James, next time you need to get through to Verizon... don't go through all those damn menus and frustrate yourself... go to this site and it will show you how to get a live operator right away... I have used the site for a few 800 numbers I have to call and it works the vast majority of the time...

Nothing I hate more than going through 50 menus just to talk to a human.
