ok let me say ,here in england the view is just that,and pete being pete takes this literally ok?
because of the friends and associates i have i understand that the armed forces do their job ..they have to ,even if we the people dissagree with it,and we have to support those people.
i dont agree with the brit government s actions in all things but they are our democratically elected government,and the armed forces are doing their job,however the comments made on that thread are what a lot,in fact the vast majority feel.

i think it is better that you all see this,if only thro petes posts to understand the world view.

he makes quite inflammirtry remarks about MY faith but i understand as a brit what he is saying as a brit (its our culture ( and dont condemn him 0
i manage to get along with his points even when i disagree with them....

this is adelicate situation which needs remedying ...he is a very valuable member of this forum....lover debxx

Im sorry then. Damn I need to take a second before I respond when a tad upset. Im truly sorry...and will do my best to make sure it doesnt happen again I seem to keep reading into the wrong way of your posts. Maybe I will think twice in the future :unsure:

Don't worry Kat! :) This happens a lot.
I seem to form my words differently than most people, and in turn I get a lot of people misunderstanding my posts. It's kinda frustrating, but what can you do? As I always say, shit happens.
 
liam ,i think we should all just withdraw until this can be sorted out...i have sparred with pete and embraced him..he is a great person and due to circumstances this may well blow over,

as for your posts sweetie,we have come to blows and the sorted it out the next day,,,i wouldnt want you to change a bit;)

ive calmed down now thanks to helpful people here,and lets see what happens...you and i can still spar eh?;)

Peter dont leave because of this, there are alot of people here that enjoy you as a member here myself included.
As far as the rest of this stuff sometimes its just best you let the moderators sort this out. Jersey said it best, we welcome differing opinions on here thats what makes this such a great forum just sometimes things get out of hand and thats where the moderators need to step in.
 
The warning was talked about in the mods room.. Peter verbally attacks people and the other members complain. The name calling, ect is what we dont like. I just wish when people would debate, they would do it tactfully.

As far as you peter, You know I love you! You know I dont want you to leave!! Bring you Britain butt back here!! If you were here, who would get into trouble?? (KIDDING!!) :) Again, the infraction was NOT given because of the subject matter!!
 
Peter has explained a number of times why he is the way he is & I think he should stay too. He just needs understanding. I am not just saying this because he is also English, it is because I understand what he is about, that's all, as I live it through my son every day.
He will need to have time away from here right now and will come back when he is ready I am sure.
I am not speaking as a mod, as this is not my section, but I speak because I know about his med condition very well, as it is the same for my son too, plus everyone else has had a say & I have only just seen this thread.

I hope to be able to speak to him, as I know how to deal with this kind of thing, due to my son, every day.

It's a shame that this has happened, but I think I can get clarity on things if I speak to him. Not now, it is not approriate now, but maybe tomorrow.
 
I was out so just saw this. I've read through the entire thread thus far so that I didn't miss anything and had also followed the thread in question so am familiar with what happened.

Peter, it is clear from the comments that your fellow members do not want you to leave. You have been a member here from since September 2006....and have been contributing regularly from what I see. That makes you one of the core members here in my opinion.

Listen, we would always have our ups and downs, times of agreement and disagreement, things we may feel passionate about from time to time and express accordingly....sometimes/oftentimes in hindsight wish we had expressed differently under calmer frame of mind. True?

No matter Pete, you know what?....it is the mix we have...the different personalities that makes this thing called Offtopicz work. And at the end of the day the underlying factor is that it is a bunch of people that care.

The moderators, they are just trying as best possible to do their job to keep the peace as best possible, often a thankless job...and not getting paid for it to boot.

What I'm trying to say Pete is please don't make any rash decisions. We all need one another's input. It's what makes this thing work and it has worked marvelously. You have been here for far too long to give up now. That being said, have a drink on me, re-group and get your ass back on here.

You feeling me on this?
