Down by Law

"1986 black-and-white independent film written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. It stars Tom Waits, John Lurie, and Roberto Benigni.
The film centers on the arrest, incarceration, and escape from jail of three men. It discards jailbreak film conventions by focusing on the interaction between the convicts rather than on the mechanics of the escape. A key element in the film is Robby Müller's slow-moving camerawork, which captures the architecture of New Orleans and the Louisiana bayou to which the cellmates escape."

I absolutely LOVED it. Benigni almost made me scream with laughter.

Recently saw Little Big Man as good as I remembered it. I really disliked the Army's concept (as portrayed) of sparing women and children...
snip..

Don't remember if they spared the horses in this flick but that annoys me. If you are mounted, the first thang your enemy will attempt to do is dismount you by aiming for the horse. I think I've seen only two movies that I can recall that did not spare the horses -- Ran and Braveheart.

Romance & Cigarettes

"A down-and-dirty musical set in the world of working-class New York, tells a story of a husband's journey into infidelity and redemption when he must choose between his seductive mistress and his beleaguered wife."

Directed by John Turturro, and starring James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon and Kate Winslet.

Absolutely a riot. Really made me laugh. Warning on the language tho. Winslet's performance as the mistress was knock down hysterically funny.

Seraphim Falls does some funny stuff to a horse... :D
