I've kept/keep travel journals, but nothing akin to a diary.

I can tell you exactly where I was and what I was doing on February 18, 1989.

I know I kept journals before then, but the writing is probably really illegible and I've since lost those ones. I go through about a book a year. Years 1989-1997 are in a crate at my parents' house, and everything after that is in a box here (except for 2007, which is in my bedroom).

It's become part of the bedtime ritual for me to write about my day, write down my thoughts and all that.

You write everyday? Like...every single day?

Do you ever go back and read your journals from years passed? See type of person you were then; see whether you have changed; look back at how you viewed the world?

Yeah, it's really funny to read the old ones at my parents'. I was 10-18 in those ones, and that's 10-18 years ago, so I'm obviously a very different person. It's funny reading about the petty high school stuff that seemed so important at the time.

More recent ones tend to ground me. I can go back and read journals from just a few years ago to see how far I've come and how much I've fought for what I have. In the past five years, I've divorced one person and married another, so there is a lot of change and growth in that time span.

I'd never sit down and just read them all through, though. That would take forever. Maybe I can sell them to a psychologist or something? I don't know what I plan on doing with them, but I'm still writing them. Haha

Yep. Well, I'm sure I've missed a few days because I had a headache and couldn't keep my eyes open or something.

Journal writing comes after brushing my teeth and getting under the covers, and right before I say my bedtime prayer.

But I basically have the last eighteen years of my life in journal form.

I imagine the hindsight insight (if that makes sense) into how you evolved into who you are now would be phenomenal.

Keeping a journal could be quite therapeutic.

Hey Lacey, since you are 14 hours ahead of us... do you think you look up the winning lottery numbers here and give them to me? I'll split the jackpots with you....

Can I trust that I'll get my share? From the future... 3, 14, 17, 23, 26, 32

Would you be interested in buying a bridge as well? ;)
