Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but snowflakes don't look like the snowflakes you cut out of paper as kids, right? House is one and I swear that's what the snow looked like as it was falling on the TV.

Def does not look like paper cut outs. No one snowflake is identical to another.

Each snowflake has it's own individual shape. Any bit of heat is going to deform/melt the snowflake, as well as what happens when it hits other snowflakes and combines, etc.

I've seen snow flakes that have landed on my coat as a kid, they do actually look like when you cut out pieces of paper into designs. It's pretty neat to see one before it deforms/melts. I wish I had a camera back then.

I know they aren't all the same (though there may be evidence against that) but I'm pretty sure they don't look like what was on the TV. Can you tell I've seen snow once in my life and that was less than two months ago?

They don't always use real snow on TV. That could be part of it?

I think it was computer generated snow. It just bothers me that i can't tell if that's how it should look or not.

Because it's too cold with too much wind. Most of what is coming down is just what's coming back up with the wind and blowing across.

Movie sets use large blocks of manufactured ice which they put through a chipper, grind up and blow across the yard/house/whatever.
