I get to work from home now. But my job does require travelling normally since I am a senior software consultant. However, I haven't had to travel for the last 3 months since I was working on a project I could do remotely.

So today, I'm minding my own business, playing Gears of War and enjoying my ham sangwich when I get a call from my boss. :wtf:!

He tells me they need my "talents" down in Charleston, SC. So I have to then get out of the online game I was playing, so rudely interrupted mind you, and have to take a shower and now pack for a 2 day trip to SC. So I get in my car and drive 4 hours and find myself in a hotel room with nothing to do. I was just telling Donnie that I'm gonna go grab a huge steak and some beer on these bishes. Screw them for making me work!

I am literally addicted to this game. I seriously have played only 2 other games on my xbox 360. Those where Halo 3 for like 20 mins (waste of my time) and then Rainbow 6 Las Vegas. I know there are a ton of good games, but I really enjoy playing Gears.
 
Thats what I hear. That will probably be the next game I play. I really liked COD 1 and 2 so I am sure to like it on the 360 graphics.

Alright, peeps, off to eat some steak on da house.

Indeed. The best part is I don't have to show receipts for anything other than hotel and airfare :) Otherwise I get to just put down $54 per day whether I spend it all or not :)

I think I just gained 3 pounds tonight. Yummy.

LoL...No the hotel is separate :) The 54 is for food or whatever, its just per diem and varies on the city. But its odd that it was only $55 in so. cal and seattle and its the same here in Charleston... :dunno

Actually its just for food and entertainment :) Gas is a separate thing. I also get mileage, but not sure what it is at the moment...I have to check on that...
 
I'm just glad I don't do it anymore .. the perdium is not nearly enough for the wear and tear on your car.

Last tine I did extended travel .. my transmission went out afterwards .. the perdium was not enough to cover my expense .. so I ate the rest. :bah:
 
Yeah that would suck. Normally I'd fly, but this was on short notice and it was just easier to drive. I could rent a car with more notice, which I'll probably do next week. I dunno yet.
