Here I was a minute ago, typing away, my son gone off to school, when out of nowhere and very loud, was a loud banging noise on the floor of my son's room, which is above my lounge where I am and heard it. It just made me jump.

Anyway, mobile phone in hand at the ready, I went upstairs - there was absolutely nothing on the floor that had dropped!!!

The times this kinda thing has happened here - both me and my son have heard spooky things going on here. Sometimes though, my son asks if I ever get the feeling someone is watching us in our house. That freaks me a bit when he says that. The only place I have never been, is our loft, but then the roof pitch is so low, you can't stand up in it. I am fine about the things beyond life and all that, but when he says that, well, it's a bit unnerving at times.

That banging happenes in the middle of the night too on and off - I go up, but all is still!

If it is a life after death thing, then he/she must be pretty pissed off to go banging for my attention like that! :)

Spooky, never really had any experiences like that myself and I've been on a kind of ghost watch before without seeing anything. I try and stay away from supernatural kind of stuff personally as I know people who have had bad experiences with that kind of stuff though not with ghosts haunting their house percifically.

Yeah, I don't go out looking myself, seems I don't need to, they come to me anyway lol :)

Creepy!

I'm positive I saw a ghost in Amber's parent's house one time. Her and I were sleeping on the couch in the living room and we got up around 6 on Sunday morning to leave to go to my parent's house. Anyway, she's still laying on the couch, and I stand up and see a person walking past. It's dark, so I say "Morning Bill (her dad)". He didn't say anything, just went around the corner into another room.

I didn't think twice about it for like 10 minutes, then I realized the room he went into had no other way out, and there was nobody in there. I asked Amber later why her dad would be up at 6 on a Sunday, and it turns out he was asleep at the time...

My sister saw something in the house before the one mentioned above. Our bedrooms were connected by a bathroom, which we would cut through when we went to each others rooms. One night, a few days after we moved in, she was taking a shower and saw a shadow pass outside the shower curtain. She almost started yelling for me to go around if I needed to get in her room while she was in there. Then she realized that the doors were locked and she never heard them open (you could unlock them from the outside if you wanted). She finished that shower rather quickly. She also had some experiences in the first dorm she lived in and we both had weird things happen when we lived in the dorms at the college I graduated from.

Here's another experience I've had with the supernatural.

Me and another Marine were in a guard tower in Iraq around midnight. He's looking through the thermal goggles and sees a man walking towards us (about 100 yards away). He passes me the goggles and I look through them and see the man start running towards us (about 50-75 yards away now). So we popped a flare so we could see (and be able to shoot). Nothing was there.

The flare burns out, and the other guy looks back through the thermals and sees the man duck behind a concrete barrier about 15-20 yards in front of us. Needless to say, we're a little freaked. We kept watching the spot, and he never came out. We had the Artillery guys fire flares overhead for probably 30 minutes so we could see without using the goggles, nothing happened. We even took a hand-held flare and threw it right behind the barrier. Nothing happened.

We took turns just staring at that one spot til the sun came up. Nothing ever moved.

Here's the scariest part. The thermal goggles show everything that is hot (bodies, engines, etc) as white, and everything that's cold (the ground, etc)as black. They have an option to invert that also. We realized afterwards that ours had the colors inverted.

What we thought was a hot, person shaped object running at us was in fact a super COLD, person shaped object.

Fuckin scary.

Y'all are gonna start thinking I'm crazy now, but I got another one :)

I was laying in my bed in the barracks in Okinawa one night (the barracks are from like the 1950's), my roommate was at work. I was just about to fall asleep when I felt a finger push down on my chest and run down to about my belly button. That scared the living hell outta me. I slept with all the lights on that night :D

Yep, can be very creepy at times.

We have had where say I am in the bathroom (this has also been the same for my son too) and hear my son (or so I've thought) walking past the bathroom, so I start to say something, but then as I speak, he calls out, "What did you say?" only for me to realize he is actually downstairs! Sometimes, I have asked him how long he's been downstairs and he says since before you went up - so he hadn't even gone upstairs to go back down while I was in the bathroom, anyway.

This one really intrigues me.

Is Amber's dad still alive by chance?

Usually when this has happened, it has turned out that when you have seen somoeone say and then you get told that person has died, you say, "No, I have just seen him/her, they can't have died...... So the fact her dad was alive and sleeping at that time is unusual, if you see what I am getting at?

Yeah, her dad's alive. I just saw the movement out of the corner of my eye and assumed it was him, since it looked like a man. But it wasn't him...

I can understand that one when you were in the guard tower in Iraq more than that one about seeing Amber's Dad. That has really got me puzzled now.

The one about your sister in the shower Amber is a bit like our bathroom one. So weird.

Most of the time I'm not freaked by these happenings, but other times, especially in the middle of the night or early hours of the morning, it does sometimes.

Other times, I'm comforted to think something's there.

Ha ha, poor Peter, I can just imagine you - reckon you'd scare the spectres away or whatever's there, bless ya. lol :) ;)

Oh, so who do you reckon it was then?
I think it was a ghost. Nobody else in the house was awake at the time. And the room it went in to doesn't lead anywhere.

It was weird, I saw him walking that way and I just figured it was her dad going back upstairs (I thought he was just too tired to say hi). So I went to the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom, I realized I never heard anybody go up the stairs (the bathroom is right below the stairs), so I went to the room next to the stairs (which is the only other place it could've gone) and nobody was there.

When we asked her family later, none of them were awake that early.

Oh was just wondering if as he looked like Amber's dad, if it was maybe a brother of his who maybe had passed away after all or a cousin who it could have been to have looked like him.

I thought of another story. My brother's girlfriend was killed in a car accident two and a half years ago. At her viewing (which I didn't go to), they had various things of Amy's displayed on a ledge behind her casket, including an Eeyore stuffed animal that my brother gave her the summer before. It was a pretty wide ledge but the Eeyore kept falling off. No matter how they put it back up, it would fall off again. Amy's dad finally took it and put it on her casket. They later had it put in with her. They figured it was a sign that she wanted it with her.

I know it had gray/white hair, same as her dad, which is why I thought it was him out the corner of my eye. I didn't get a good look since it was dark and I had just woken up.

Oh yes, you told me about that tragic time. That was so sad.

So yes, could well have been a sign then, going by what you told me before about her and yr brother when they were together.

That's the sort of times that I meant when I said about feeling comforted sometimes by the goings on in my house. Do you feel comforted by that, or did yr brother feel that about that situation? :)
