Punched in the head......

Well, today has been a bad day for us.

I had a call from school at 10.55 this morning.

My son had been hit on the head I was told.

Well, it turns out he was in actual fact, punched in the head and I had to take him to hospital - he has concussion. He is home, resting in my lounge where I can keep an eye on him, but the hospital said that if it gets worse, take him back.

I have never known him to be so still and quiet at all - ever! I really feel for him.

The thing that then choked me up about all this, is that the other boy has one of the medical conditions my son has, so my son asked me to tell the school he doesn't want the other boy punished for that reason. That was so kind of him to be that way about it, I am very proud of him.

If that is what he wishes, then it is his decision and he is a star for that.

He's not that great at the moment, but hopefully will be ok tomorrow. He is not going to school tomorrow though and then I am going to get some answers from school over this and other goings on there next week!

I am really low today, but will be back here later on.

I will have a read for a while here and post for a bit. My son's just laying down resting, so I can see him as we are in the same room.

I am going to worry about him through the night now.

He didn't ask for this to happen to him and he is so lovely. He didn't deserve it at all.

He is 12 and has a few medical conditions, one of which is autism, but he is the light of my life and so precious to me.

He is a lovely boy and thinks of others' a lot, before himself.

I am sure he will be ok, but he is laying here, quite lifeless right now - this is not him at all.

Awww, thank you for your lovely words V. We still don't have it as bad as your poor mum right now though.

I have always tried to teach my son not to hit back if he is hit. We would never see another person, especially in the same position as my son or myself, go through a time they could do without. It'll be hard for the other boy's parents right now aswell as him.

My son is something else and I have all the happiness with him.

He is slightly better than he was earlier, so in the last hour or so, he has picked up a bit, so hopefully he won't have a set back.

I had a head injury a few years ago. My head was smashed so hard onto the side of a vehicle. I had delayed concussion about 3 days later I think it was. I was ill and in agony for over 2 months.

This wasn't as bad, so he should be up and fine tomorrow hopefully.

Aww Amy - sorry, you weren't there when I was typing out my last message - thank you so much for your lovely words and thoughts too, you are another lovely kind person too.

I have some real lovely friends here and I love being here.

You all have made me smile to know that my friends are here when I felt a bit low.

I feel much happier having come on here and reading your kind words to me and my son.

I have told him each one and he smiled. Best recovery I think, to be able to make a person injured or sick, smile.

So sorry to hear that, some kids are little bastards! When I was at school I ended up being off with concussion for 6 weeks because I got hit by some kid when I resisted him trying to steal my money. The bad thing was that he didn't even get punished because the headmaster said he was sorry!:mad What did your son get hit over? I hope he gets better soon!
