why do

Who else is into it then?

And as for the rest, greater skill strategy, well I suppose so if sticking your hand up a guys arse while shouting numbers...oh forget it!:yuk

Reading a blitz, or what the 4-3 defense is planning, while keeping your eye on a safety and 3-4 line backers takes skill on offense. As does juking and weeving of a Running back.

Guarding a Wide receiver while running down the sideline.

Catching the ball and making sure that you have posession and have both feet down in bounds takes some serious skill and practice.

Kicking a ball towards a giant net guarded by one person does not take skill. I can play soccer. It's not that hard. Whoopty do. It may be one hell of a popular sport, but it's boring as fuck to watch.

As for American Football... I've seen Japanese kids play it, just like baseball.

Australians, Iraqis, Israelis, some european countries, and it's gaining popularity elsewhere. If it wasn't 5:30 I could think better.

But my point has been made.

Just because it only touches the foot during kick off/punting/field goal/ or extra points means nothing.

Haha! Soccer is the fastest growing sport in Australia, they hate America by the way, I should know, I'm married to one! Iraq just won the Asia soccer finals, never heard a peep out of them about gridiron! Japan is mad on soccer, they co hosted the world cup a few years ago and Gary Linekar got them so mad on it they started their own, rapidly growing league. Sorry. American football is widely dismissed outside of the USA!

Give me a fucking break. I'm not talking professional American Football outside of the US, I'm talking about citizens playing it. So when you speak for the entire population of each of these countries, you make yourself look foolish in trying to prove something you can't.

I don't care really. American Football > Soccer. If I want to watch a bunch of pansies run around kicking a round ball, I'll watch it. But I'd rather watch a 300 lb linebacker plant a 220 lb quarterback into the turf.

Only in America!;):horse

Oh wow. People getting worked up over sports is great. <--- That was being serious not sarcastic.

Okay. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with calling American Football, Football. Reason for this is; American Footballs origin traces back to Rugby. (Union) Which of course was an English game derived from Soccer which is appropriately known as football. Hence, always footing the ball.

To make it simple. American Football came from Rugby which came from the original game of Football...Soccer.

All they did was change a few rules around and how the ball got from one end to the other. And of course, changed the shape of the ball.
