Yeah, that's it for the floor, but as with all things housing there is more you need. :(

The padding that goes under laminate is almost as important as the laminate itself.

Because laminate is so hard, it is very loud in the house. I have all laminate floors in my hallway / living room / kitchen, and it's hard to talk on the phone in there because of the echoes. I need to get something up on the walls.

I wish I had spent more money and gotten extra padding.

Good luck. It sounds like Tim is going to set you straight pretty good. Timmy is good. Timmy is wise.

Most everyones advice so far has been spot on. The floating floor is the way to go. While i was working at lowes and home depot we moved so much of that shit out I felt like i was pulling pallets in the overhead only to bring them down about 2 hours later. Its definitely the best with quality/price and a hell of a lot easier to put down then everything else.

Good for you, so it'll be done just in the nick of time then, before everyone arrives! :)

That is what I want on my floors, but gotta decorate the walls first - that's what's taking the time for me, cos I cannot decorate, too much to get someone in to do it and too much prep needed to be done with not a lot of spare time to do it and it just puts me off cos it is a load of hassle.

One day, I will get it done lol

Laminate flooring is really nice Heather - no more slogging over the hoover with no carpets. :)
