Noone told me about the beetle problems that there is here in East TN! I suppose we are in what they call "beetle season". These things are insane. They dont care how hard they fly into you. I cleaned out the filter in my pool, and this is what I got. :yuk

lol.. they are the most uglyest things Ive seen in my life. Maybe 1 or 2 around, wouldnt be so bad. But these things are everywhere I look. And they dont DIE just being in the water, those things can swim forever. They have to be sucked up by the filter. And they are too thick to step on :(

i hate beetles...we have a problem with them here too...my parents have them really bad where they are. They have beetle bags that the fill up with literally thousands of beetles...it's disgusting.

My parents got one of those beetle bags today and they couldnt figure out how to put it together! haha! I read online where some people say that it helps...and other places say where it actually attracts more beetles. Im clueless on what to do... Ill probably just wait for this stupid beetle season to be done with!!!

Hey Folks. :waving:

I'm new here so thought I'd start out here with the bugs. :eek

I used to have a pool and would get boocoos of beetles, but they were the regular brown ones not those pretty green ones. I used to take 'em to the front yard and feed 'em to the travellin' ducks from the park down the road from my house. Ducks love those kinda treats. I tried 'em once, they aren't that good. :yuk

Ha! Welcome to the South. They are called Japanese beatles and will feed on any green leaf plants. What also sucks is they eat the heck out of your sod as larvae, they are Grubs as babies. Nice little things, aren't they?

haha ewww i wouldn't expect them to taste good. Never tried to feed a duck some bugs though...only bread.

Yeah well, I'll eat bread especially with baon, lettuce 'n mater on it. :D

btw, y'all got a cool site here, cool smilies and alot of nice features.

I just gotta find my way around a little better so I can get comfy.
And thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it very much. :)

you are wrong those are June Bugs.;)

Your right, I always confuse the two. Japanese beatles have the gold wings.

Either way, both are destructive creatures in the form of Grubs and adults.

Actually I looked them up this AM to try and find out how to get rid em... and they are called Japanese Beetles. Its really hard to tell tho, cuz theres so many different kind of beetles out there. :( Anyway, anyone who thinks they are pretty, wants any, or just wants to feed them to ducks, Ill ship em to ya!
