I was at a huge car show this weekend and not one man except mine took off his hat. I was ashamed at what America has become.

I don't know, it's probably just me...but the way america is today, I'd rather live somewhere else. I can't really say I'm proud to be an american, it's embarrassing.

I'm with you.

Trust that it is not just America where you find bad manners and ill respect of tradition and culture. It is all over the world. I've seen it first hand. The media hype would have you believe that it is only America that is going down the toilet when that is just totally not true.

Entropy is everywhere.

Really? Where are these countries that keep their citizens from leaving? The way you word it, it sounds like most countries keep their citizens hostage... I'm just curious to know where you get this information.

I agree with Tim, besides, what something that I love about Americans is that they can be good critics of their own culture. All countries do things people may disagree with, I would be the first one to critisize my country when it does something bad... actually I could begin now and never end. Do I love my country? I like it, people here (and in the whole Europe) are wonderful. But I would like the US as much as a country is not a flag or an anthem, it's the people that make it. Besides, I may have said this before but I'm a citizen of the world, proud to be part of the human race

You have to protect your home before you can protect the world. It is no different with anything else. You need to love yourself, so that you can truly love another. You need to walk before you can run.

So many are quick to criticize the bad, instead of compliment the good. They also want to take it 'all' on before they really know what they are getting into or what they are talking about. We all do it, but it doesn't make it right.

I am proud to be an American. Does that mean that my government makes all the right choices all the time? No. Does that mean that all of our citizens are upstanding? No. But we are also not what the media tries to portray us as either. There are a great many things about America. Waaaaaaaaaaaay more good than bad in my book.
