I had a dream and Jean Claude Van Damme was in it. He told me I need to start lifting. So I went out and bought some weights:

They're 30 pounds each, and they're not that bad to start out with.

Dude, you had a dream about Van Damme? There's something not quite right about that. Get yourself some 70's and do some bench presses. Better yet, get yourself some rusted 70's and put the bottom rails from a rocking chair on your bench and rock side to side while you are doing the benches. That's sorta what I had to deal with while I was out to sea. Haha! I'm surprised I didn't tear any ligaments.
Those are some nice looking 30's though. How much did you pay for them?

That's a good price for those dum-bells, JT. I think that's about £13 pounds for us English.

I wish I could get myself to the gym, to just tighten things up - I dnt like doing the upper arms tho and pecks - I just want to do training for my bum, tum, thighs and upper stomach. Going to the gym, when all my other frnds won't go doesn't have any appeal. Going on my own is mundane. Done that before and it only lasted about 3 months if that.:( I wld have to get some willpower tho aswell, to stop the crisps and chocolates I eat, to make the excercise work.

They were about $17 each.
i have ONE 30 because i didn't have enough money when i got it, but i know it wasn't 17 dollars. I think i got mine for like 8 over at sports authority. i also have two 25s but both the 25s and the 30 are to light now. =[

I've been biking home from school the past to weeks in order to get fit for my PE final. (4 miles/ ride home is 4 miles) I've knocked off 2 minutes for my 4 miles run which makes me so happy. Plus it's been easier to run. But i can't say the same for my push up test. i am going to fail that badly. =D could never bench my own body weight. Highest i got i think was 135. (i'm like 170ish)

Well i don't have a bench at home to practice. We were doing weight lifting in PE a few units ago...i was enjoying it too. I guess i COULD do more push ups but i personally hate them. But i can do them....just not as many as coach wants us to do. its like somewhere around 120...-_-. and what's worse is that we have this stupid tape with this annoying chick on it saying "UP.....DOWN....UP.....DOWN" GOD SOME ONE SHANK HER. ='[
