Ok, I keep getting told that I need to "get a life". It was late last night when I wrote everything in my registry and found out that what I'd written in from guessing the total actually was the total. I was surprised by it because it's never happened that way, especially coming out to be an even number as such.

But anyway, my question now to you all is what makes a life?

Is the person who went out all the time and partied in his younger days, but is now married, any better than the person who is in the 'party' age but rarely ever goes out?

Is the person who goes out and parties any better than the person who would rather stay home and take care of themselves, and more important things than drinking themselves silly?

I'm just perplexed on what peoples opinions of what 'having a life' is all about.

With people my age, it seems I don't have a life because I don't go out and get buckwild, drunk, and laid whenever I can.

With my elders, it seems I don't have a life because I'm not married and I don't want a woman, much less kids.

I realize that a lot of it on here is merely jokes, but it raises an interesting opinion related point.

What is considered when explaining what having a life is all about?

Do you man. Life isnt the same for everyone. Life is what you want it to be. For someone to tell you that you are not living life correctly is a fool and should be treated accordingly. Who are they to judge? Who set the bar? Who made the rules that you have to go out or have kids? Fuck'em. Keep yerself happy, whatever is meant for you will come.

Updating my registry wasn't the part I found humorous, It was the fact that I'd guessed on what I spent, then overshot it to be on the safe side. Then it ended up being exactly what I wrote in anyway.

The problem I have is that when I find something that simple funny and make a post about it it's 'pathetic'.

It's the simple things that should bring you pleasure in life. Complications are what I avoid.

having a life is what you make of it...of doing what makes you happy...there is no set standard in my opinion of what marks you have to reach by a certain age...only what makes you happy
