What do you miss from childhood?

Last night I was going through some old photos with my brother when we came across one of our old beloved treehouse. My mind started to wander back to the days I spent playing up there...so many memories of my childhood came flooding back, and it dawned on me how many things from those that I miss.


Playing. Remember when playing was its own activity? You'd go to your friend's house to play, or you'd go outside to play. You didn't need to specify an activity. It was just playing. I miss the way you would get so caught up in playing that the outside, adult world just didn't exist - especially those 'imagination' games.

A few other things I miss:

Waking up really early on Christmas morning and getting so excited because Santa Claus brought you presents.
Having the whole summer off, every summer.
Getting up before anyone else on saturday morning to watch cartoons
I miss not having a care in the world about major events.
All major Holidays seemed much more fun and magical as a child.
Sherbet bombs (Yum)
Hide and go seek
Playing with friends in the street
Walking to the shop to buy bread and spending the change on sweets
Not having a care in the world
Buying ice cream from the ice cream van
Fraggle Rock

this may sound weird...but....i miss being sick as a child...i looooved all the attention id get from my parents. I didn't get it too often unless i was really sick or did something really good or really bad. What can I say I like to be caudled and catered to
