Why Coffee?

Why do people start drinking coffee? I would imagine that people start drinking coffee on a regular basis at the age of 17-18? Correct me if I am wrong.

IMO people drink coffee to be cool, or try to be cool. I personally do not like the taste of coffe unless I had like half a bottle of french vanilla creamer. Coffee doesnt wake me up or make me more pumped for the morning ahead. So coffee-drinkers you drink coffee to help you get through the day. How was your life before you drank coffee? Did you fail to get up in the morning because you didnt have enough caffine in your body? I think not. I think when people drink it they just think its waking them up. But by the time they drink like 2 cups of coffee any non-coffee drinker would have already been awake and ready to go.

I dont think coffee should be banned or anything I just think that people dont need to drink it in the morning to wake them up, they were perfectly fine in the morning before they started drinking coffee. Sorry just had to get that off my chest, who agrees or disagrees?

Actually i drink an average of 2 post through out my day, i work grave yards, and yes it does help, but i dont actually drink coffe to stay awake, i drink because it relaxes me, i love the taste, , blend my own coffee as well Mmm coffee *steps out to start a pot brewing*

i dont liike coffee to much. i dont drink it very offten and when i do its to keep me awake

but it cant taste like coffee. i get a 24 oz cup and fill about 1/3 the cup with French vannilia cream and 4 sugars.

after doing that it dont even taste like coffee anymore after that.

I started drinking coffee when I was really young. My family all drinks coffee, especially my grandparents. Since I was always there and everyone was drinking it, I wanted to try it. Gramma would put tons of milk and sugar in it. LOL I would just drink it up loving it! I love the taste. I do think it is an acquired taste though. Most people who dont drink regularily have to add cream and sugar.

I've drunk coffee all my life. Whats the deal in America with it being an adult thing to drink? I once had a couple of American girls come up to me to ask me to buy their coffee for them!:confused

Um...no I dont drink coffee to be cool. I drink coffee cause I'm tired. I have a job and many other tasks to handle through out the day. There is no way I could be productive while draggin my ass. So I drink coffee. Trust me, coffee wakes you and makes you more pumped about your day. However, I do believe in moderation when it comes to coffee. I only drink two cups. I dont get spun outa my head or nuthin. :cool

Got to have my coffee in the morning. I do like the taste and I sometimes make it strong just for the taste.

I like the taste of coffee. But it's definitely an aquired taste, like a lot of other things.

I drink it mostly to stay awake, because I work really screwed up hours that involve a lot of energy. The only downside is that it is a bit dehydrating for me, and hard to take quickly, so I usually end up taking caffeine pills instead, which have more caffeine and are probably worse for you... but I also end up drinking water instead of other things, so I suppose it balances out.
